exactly, if they cannot aim, then why do people feel entitled to kill a genji
They don’t. They feel entitled to have a fun game - or they don’t play long.
If it would break the low elo game, then Blizzard loses money, and they won’t do that.
You can’t “It’s a skill issue” your way out of it. because while it IS a skill issue, it is a VERY real issue for Blizzard.
Triple shuriken headshot + Dash Combo is still active and kills 200HP heroes.
Dash + Shuriken + Melee is still viable and kills.
So I am confused as to what really changed, the combo you mentioned leaves the hero literally melee away from death.
this is an FPS game for competitive players, blizzard literally started this game with OWL in mind, catering so hard for low elo is not a good idea even for low elo players.
hold on, so you are saying, that i have to use an entire ability to kill a 200 hp hero when previously i could of just used melee?
it does not kill 250 hp heroes anymore, like YOU CANNOT BE THIS DUMB.
follow me along, if you could reliable one shot combo people everytime you had three shurikens hit in the head followed up by a melee, and now you cannot do that, what does that make it, CHANGING HIS BREAKPOINTS.
apparently the ideal balance spot to you is being completely reliant on the power of nano blade that is artificially increasing his winrates by ALOT, seriously, IT IS NOT UNKNOWN of how powerful nanoblade is, this combo has been around FOR SO LONG.
why are we even arguing about this? does any of this change my original topic? blizzard and alec are WRONG about genji, he is not good, he is awful, his only way of bringing value in high elo is nanoblade which is driving his winrate by ALOT
I’m saying that I don’t think you can claim a hero is bad and in dire need of help, and also claim people only play him for fun, when they are the 4th most picked DPS in OWL right now lol
Genji is fine. He is balanced. Middle of the pack. Strong, situationally good, situationally bad. That’s how heroes SHOULD be balanced.
The Devs have said multiple times the past few months he is performing well. High picked (popularity) but still has a good winrate (power level).
You should be glad they at least said they are considering giving him changes to FEEL more impactful without actually making him much stronger.
He is in the ideal balance spot for any hero. Not in need of buffs, not in danger of any nerfs.
The issue is Genji mains always call him useless/underpowered when he is balanced, and call him balanced/fine !! when he is blatantly overpowered like at the start of OW2 lol y’all were saying he didn’t need nerfs
Their money is coming from low ELO players. If the game isn’t good for them, then Blizzard loses money.
They won’t do this.
Do you understand that?
It doesn’t matter how much you want the game to be “a high competitive scene” etc… if there is a clash between than and Blizzard making money, they will choose the money.
Going to Blizzard and trying to convince them to lose money over changes you want, will be a HARD sell for them.
They won’t do it, which is why they haven’t done it.
If a change would break low elo play, it will not happen.
Is this topic still going based on the idea that Genji isn’t strong because he’s not covering the T500 leaderboards?
Really?
Nope it moved on.
It is now “Genji IS balanced, but the balance in high ELO is around nano blade, and the Genji mains don’t like that - so why has Blizzard not shifted the power from nanoblade to his base kit”
After all that would make him a lot more fun in high ELO.
The answer is, it breaks low ELO games, and that is where Blizzard makes their money, so they won’t do that.
Trail is trying to argue that “since it is a skill issue, it is ok to break low elo games”
But, that doesn’t change that it would make Blizzard make less money. Which is the part they don’t seem to get their head around.
Genji should either be an ambush character that catches someone unaware and deletes them with a single combo…OR a mobile, evasive housefly that wittles your health down if you can’t hit him.
He cannot be both Doomfist and Tracer at the same time.
No, genji is not balanced, he is very weak, but because of the power from nanoblade, NOT BLADE, NANO blade is so damn strong, it evens out his extremely horrible base kit.
No, blizzard does not know who they are balancing for, again, you cannot give moira fade during ult, turn around and then instantly say “oh well genji cant have a strong neutral because people cant aim at him” when they literally cant aim at ANYTHING in that elo.
Yes, but nanoblade is in the game, and because it evens out his kit, he is balanced.
Sure you can.
Fade during ult isn’t going to break low elo games.
yes, nanoblade is in the game, however nano blade isnt in every game, so technically, a game without ana or mercy, would make him severely unbalanced.
oh it will, and it has, moiras one state of vulnerability has been effectively deleted, instead of adding something new to her skill ceiling that rewards skill expression, they give her this lol
Right, but the game DOES have Ana and Mercy, and they are played enough that he is doing just fine.
He is a balanced around them being in enough games. If they were NOT in enough games, his pick and win rate would fall, and he would be buffed.
No it won’t. It won’t change a damn thing there.
how do you know lol.
Because I don’t think she is killed a lot when she ults down there already, increasing her survival at a time where she is unlikely to be killed already, isn’t a big change in low elo play.
Anyway, if she DOES get out of hand, they will nerf her.
Since… Blizzard doesn’t want to break low elo play.
really? last time i checked, reins will either pin her or solo shatter her, or any utility that makes her weakened/killable like anti nade where she cant cleanse it but now she can
And they still will. The reaction times of low elo players are not good.
^^^^ - this is the important bit.
It STILL doesn’t change the situation with Genji.
They won’t break low elo play to make Genji more fun to play in high elo.
Genji is balanced therefore he doesn’t need changes. Higher ELO is not balanced around nanoblade, because if it were then nanoblade would be weaker. Instead, nanoblade is too strong not to be used in higher ELO. It’s simply a win more button unless the other team can answer it. It needs to be nerfed so that Genji players start thinking about their plays rather than building blade and complaining about the lack of Ana players.
moira has always been out of hand in low level play lmao, shes now gonna get even more busted, also what reaction skills does it take to dodge a rein pin LMAO
and that is the flaw of blizzards balancing, therefore genji by himself is unbalanced, making the point of this post, proven.
I’m not arguing for a change for Genji. I’m saying that them trying to change him so he isn’t getting as much value from NanoBlade and more value from his base kit won’t happen.
