Why blizzard games is so expensive?

it’s a curious question, i’m playing other games like lol and i don’t see this game so expensive like than overwatch 2 for exemple, i want the new doomfist skin, but, holy **** dude is very expensive.

In my country blizzard games and itens, and skins are very, very expensive and i think about buy battle pass but when i see the price, its just a shame. i simply give up

is there a reason for blizzard games and blizzard games microtransactions are be so expensive?

Greedyness and getting maximum profit from minimum work, higher ups do be like that right now

cause there HQ is in one of the most expensive states, and activision blizzard has investors who want continuous growth, when you plateau you can only give the appearance of growth by charging more

becuse blizzard quality… oh wait

Don’t be ridiculous.
just few years ago Blizzard was caught dodging taxes by having all their ips registered to an empty warehouse in some other country.

I agree.
They’ve been working on ow2 and it’s money model for years now and investors want to see their return . Im sure the game is delivering.
Just have to realise unless your filthy rich with exposable income or it’s your job… your not going to own all the skins… but then again why would you want to. You can only wear one at a time.
I’d rather spend that money on a new game tbh
Or food

Games in general are getting more expensive

I dont think this is really that unusual. I dont play LoL to know exactly what the items are, but I imagine it’s also reasonable to suggest that the items you get in league are much lower quality. The game has a much simpler artistic style than OW, whose cosmetics are often seen up close in much higher detail and higher fidelity. When I played dota it was not at all uncommon to see individual pieces of a set (like just a sword/leg piece/etc) for $5+, so a full set would easily run you $15-20+ for even some of the basic ones. Once you get the fancier skins they can easily be $100+.

CS:GO and Valorant both also has an enormous market around weapon skins. I’ve seen some go for way more than $20 are are just retextures or simply model changes.

Fortnite also has a pretty comparative pricing model, with legendary skins being $15-$20 from what I’ve seen.

So while I do think OW skins are stupidly expensive, I’d honestly say it’s in line or even in many cases cheaper than the competition. This is just how they make money on free to play games these days.

Would they do that is california wasnt so expensive, no one dodges a 5 dollar entry fee, now if it is 100 dollars your gonna look for other means of entry… they wouldnt did it but for california taxes… when your operating cost is around 2 billion dollars that 9% is a huge number that isnt even that net they took in that year

All games these days are 60Euros and above.

I wouldnt agree that the game being called OW2 is expensive, personally

Although it is a pay to win game, one can still play it for free. One doesnt have to buy a single cosmetic to play the game.

But yes, the cosmetics (which arent a necessity) are indeed expensive

no online only pvp game cost 60 bucks.

I said games. Not PvP. OP never said anything about it being exclusive to that.
