I’m slowly, truly getting over it.
The game isn’t fun.
It really truly isn’t fun.
It really, really isn’t fun anymore guys.
Why are you still playing?

cause I’m having fun
Teach me your ways, master.
OW is the only game I’ve ever seen so many people insist other people need to uninstall/quit/realize it’s unfun. It’s such bizarre behavior.
Teach me your ways, master.
It’s literally as simple as not taking it seriously and when you’re not enjoying it, stop playing for a while. If you’re not a streamer or a pro there is no reason to force yourself to play it if you’re not having fun.
I only play 1-2 times a week, sometimes less, these days but I never rage the entire session anymore. If you do this and still dislike it then just move on and maybe come back in a month or two.
I’m addicted to the moments where it is fun, because no game has similar moments.
But the rest of the time, pretty much 95% of the time, it sucks. I go into every match with a defeatist attitude at this point. On the first lost team fight, if it was a bad loss, I soft give up and become depressed for the rest of the match, because I’m just so used to this meaning that we lose the whole thing in a stomp.
It’s not like teammates even appreciate when you give it your all, because there has been many occasions I’ve done so and gotten a “kobol throwing pls report”.
You won’t catch me saying this. I hope there’s people out there having fun with OW and I’d like to have that too. I really miss the feeling the game used to give me.
You’re not alone in this bro. I have had similar experiences many, many times.
Game can be fun if you turn it into a drinking game…then you become sick. No but seriously its not fun because there isn’t as much team synergy anymore like there was with 6v6 i guess. I do hope they figure out how to fix it
I play better when slightly buzzed, because bad things happening doesn’t bug me so much.
But I’d become an alcoholic and destroy my liver if I did that every time I played and kept it going.
because I’m goofing around playing ana in quickplay when I do play and don’t care about winning. drunkverwatch yep.
I completely agree. If you have to complain, it should be done from the perspective of “I wish you would improve/change this, I don’t agree with this decision because [argument]”… and not “boooh, you’re a loser for still playing/developing to this game. Look at me, I haven’t uninstalled it for months.”
it’s quite self-defeating behavior: don’t you like the game anymore? say hello and that’s the door. condolences that a live service game has changed in a direction you don’t like. except for the fact that it is actually in the very nature of live services (especially those that are now 8 years old) to change suddenly, it is almost physiological in its type of video game that it has a turnover of users and interests.
It’s addicting for two main reasons I think:
Great memories of OW1, especially the first couple years.
Needle in a haystack effect. The good games are really good, and give you a glimpse of what this game used to be. But you spend so much of your time in games with throwers, games with people not giving a crap, games where not a single person is in comms that you question whether it’s worth it.
Most of the time. The issue is, like I alluded to, when this game is good it’s really good. When it’s bad it’s really bad.
I’d estimate maybe 1 in 5 to 1 in 10 matches are enjoyable. The rest are varying degrees of boring slog, to outright hostile to a player’s mental state.
I hate the game when I have to take it seriously or play my once favourite role, tank. As a result, I only have fun when I can just play support or dps and goof around, it might make other people mad when I’m getting a bit overconfident, but it’s a quickplay game.
I think the playerbase in general has gotten so used to loud complaints that justify their own playstyle and behavior. Even some developers acknowledge it and give them a shout out. People have forgotten
“Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain - and most fools do. But it takes character and self control to be understanding and forgiving.” - Dale Carnegie
I also should state that sometimes saying nothing and just leaving sends a louder message. Blizz has to tune a lot of us out because of how much belly aching there is even if there are kernals of truth. It just tends to get overwhelming after a while and you feel like you cant do anything right. Just remember this team is balancing stuff and trying to find ways of making it all work while seeing the statistics that we all dont see. I am not sure if they every watch every replay or not but i am guessing they have to from time to time just to see exactly what the players are dealing with.
I appreciate your replies. It’s crazy how many people agree… And for how long it’s been the case.
I’d agree with you if they weren’t implementing this greedy monetization system that is aiming at sucking off the last bit of guap out of it’s remaining playerbase and Gen Z that grew up with fortnite monetization.
If you don’t have fun playing a game then don’t play it. Why voluntarily waste time with something you “truly” dislike doing?
But they just said at yesterday ama…
That there is no war in Ba Sing Se
What’s unfun for you?
How dismissive really.
People genuinely love this game and want it to be better and still give the moments and experiences it used to give. They are tired of bad changes and even more tired of people defending those changes.
It should never be: “Oh the game changed you should quit and move on, tough luck.” We should instead be holding Blizzard accountable but that’s impossible since shills exist and the higher ups will never care even if they lost every player right now they’d just deem it a failure and shut the game down to move onto the next scam.
I want OW to be better, it will never improve if I am told to quit or others are told to quit even if temporarily.
It’s more fun than all the other games I could be playing.
Could it be better? Yeah and I’m decently vocal about what I would like to see changed. But it’s still better than the rest.
