Nobody has been brave enough to make the obvious joke. Neither am I. Only by bringing it up I am technically making the joke without commiting to it.
Because the game is about Earth and social issues specifically
Alright, now I’m scared. Do I wanna know?
Probability for life occuring in a habitable planet is one thing, probability for simple organism surviving long enough to evolve into intelligent creatures before catastrophic event happens are a whole another thing. And it kinda makes sense why we still haven’t seen aliens yet:
- Even if they exist, they’re too far away for us to observe with our current technology.
- If the aliens are smart enough to discover earth, they are most likely so evolved that they sees us like we see ants or something insignificant. Why do I think this? Let me explain…
While speed of light is incredibly fast, the universe is much bigger. So even if the aliens managed to create a spaceship that can travel at the speed of light, it will still take thousand of years to reach anywhere. Most living beings don’t live that long, so in order to reach us, they would need to build a wormhole to bypass the limitations. We’ve already scouted around us thousand of light years ahead, so if there are aliens, they’re likely even further away then that. - We might just haven’t seen them yet because human civilization have only been around for couple of thousand of years. We haven’t existed that long compared to how old this plant earth is. So it’s possible that the aliens have already spotted earth long time ago when intelligent creatures didn’t exist.
- Alien Zarya skin.
- Fossil alien-squid-things on Route 66 map.
Arent those movie /road sideway attraction props?
Because it’s not a galactic travel game. Go play Destiny 2 for an alien pvp shooter
Yes, it is lampooning “The Thing?” which is a silly tourist trap in Arizona off of I-10.
Ohh interesting, i didnt knew that
I’ve been saying the same thing! New races!
We have our robots, humans, and animals.
I was hoping for some “spirits” a “ghost in the machine” type of thing, maybe a plant creature, aliens for sure, and also the ancient technology/ai like Anubis.
just not something this game wants to explore at this time. There’s enough going on already
-
at least 3 distinct sentient robot uprisings ongoing (Null Sector, the Gwishin, and the Russian Omnium)
-
Australia is even more Australian than real life
-
world wide terror cell/organized crime ring
and more, that adding aliens would either just be totally jumping the shark or completely derail OW’s barely formed story line.
You know that if they don’t exist in the first place, then they aren’t going to spontaneously appear regardless of how advanced earth gets.
Lol. The premise here is based on the assumption that they definitely do exist.
Probably because they felt like they didn’t belong here or because humans told them to bugger off.
There were aliens who wanted to make contact, but when they saw the current state of the game Overwatch 2, and development studio Blizzard, they immediately turned around and returned to their planet, promising themselves never to return to this crazy planetary system.
This tells me you have no idea what you are talking about.
Quantum teleportation is a misnomer. No “teleportation” takes place. No information is transferred. What you said is actually false.
Lmao, not my fault you only know classical physics. Fact is if I can transfer the state of a particle to a new place almost instantly and without thermal decoherence that’s teleportation.
Let’s not forget:
- Cyberpunk Dystopia-esque Megacorps
- A rogue, murderous faction of hyperintelligent gorillas doing god-knows-what on the Moon
- The Illuminati are apparently real and nobody but Sombra knows it
- GOD IS REAL, but apparently only Omnics can understand it
I like how the three calamities plaguing the Overwatch world are, in your words:
- The Rise of the Machines
- International Terrorism
- Australia
And then he pulled them back to Earth.
Does lifegrip stop you from burning up during reentry?
