Why are the forums separated by regions?

Why is there a US forum and an EU forum? I don’t see why they need to be separated. I get having multiple forums for different languages, but both the US forum and EU forum are in English. It’s not like Europeans and Americans have different ideas for threads and posts. The two forums are identical.

I’m European, yet I only ever post on the US forum since it’s way more active. Why can’t the two forums be merged?

It’s garbage anyways. I used the German and English forums for a while but nothing gets posted there and there are also no dev replies.

Exactly. The EU forums are not nearly as active as the US forums, and no developer ever replies to any post on any non-US forum. What’s even the point of using any forum but this one?

I don’t get why the English forums aren’t just merged.

You know, I forgot they existed

Agree, the english servers could very well be merged with each other, as an European and non-english native I am posting on the american forums because they are alive and people discuss interesting topics far more than on the european ones, which are too divided by language, so you have British talking on english board, German in german forums, Russian have their own enclave and so on. The language barriers divide the community on the european server, but at least both the english boards could be merged with each other, I do support the idea.

Not everyone speaks English in Europe. Russian, German, French, Italian, etc. Just because EU has the England doesn’t mean everyone speaks English in EU…

That is true. However, every post on the EU forums is in English.

If people from all over the world post on the US forums, what’s the point of having two separate forums both in English?

No one argues with this, Europe has far more different languages than NA, and certainly not everyone can and does speak english here (I think it does help you in the modern world if you at least understand english though), which leads us to the fact that the communities on different language forums are far more smaller and less active than the american one. At least the english ones could be merged.

Oh i thought all regions are in this forum. I guess Blizz loves division.

A good question that no one has answered yet.

I argued with it in the post above yours. While Europe might have a bunch of different languages, the EU forums is 100% English. I’ve never seen a non-English post on that forum, so it makes no sense to have a EU forum in addition to the US forum.

idk, all i know is that the eu forums are dead and the devs never post there so whats the point?

You know that you can choose different languages and go to different forum boards by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking on the language, right?

It could potentially be due to liability concerns. These forums are hosted in the US, and should only be held against US laws and standards, so if a EU citizen makes the conscious decision to post on these forums, Blizzard isn’t held accountable.

On the EU forums, they can apply any laws or policies that the EU or other countries require, regardless of how populous it might be.

I have no idea either but the European forums are pretty much dead.

They should just roll all forums together into this one and create language specific sub forums.

I forgot there were EU forms.

The EU forums is in English most of Europeans are more than capable of speaking English.

Also the EU server holds players that are close to it’s region like the middle east, they’re also capable of speaking English.

Should just merge them tbh.
