Wherever i go, be it reddit, facebook, discord, youtube or just asking in game, most people seem to enjoy role queue.
The forums are basically the only place where i find so much criticism against it.
Why is that?

Same, all I’m seeing elsewhere is how much better the game is now, and that’s my experience too. I think the forums are just full of people who want to complain about anything.
there are some legit arguments, but most boil down to “i lost, curse you role lock!”
Short answer? Silent majority complaining for the first time.
If you check out, most of the threads are on accounts that have less than 10 posts total. Many are posting for the first time. Those are the players that up to role queue had no reason to come into the forums and complain about anything, they just played the game.
Since they are not that versed in the netsphere surrounding Overwatch, they come to the obvious place to complain. Which is the official forums.
i mean, it’s not like there weren’t posts all the time since the first rumors complaining and i’m seeing prett much the sam arguments?
I mean, the could also be multiple accounts
All the DPS players have plenty of time to complain on the forums now. :3
It’s easier to create multiple accounts on reddit than Bnet.
Also, even when the profile is private, you have some account stats visible, like the account level. You know it’s a legit player that simply never came to the forums when they have over 200 levels and single digit posts.
Now, of course there might be some player posting two or three times on their alt accounts to create the illusion of an echo chamber, but it would not create so many threads so fast from so many different people.
Makes next to no sense though as vast majority of DPS players find the longer queue times a small price to pay in order to actually not having to off-role in order to get a normal comp going most of the games.
Most of the people who complain here seems to be disgruntled tanks/supports who “can’t change to do more damage”…
That’s what I think is going on too. Tanks / supports switching to DPS after a single failed push because “our DPS are literal garbage” is as big of a meme as Roadhogs and Moiras furiously typing about their medals. Now if they want to queue for tank or support they have to stick with it and either do their jobs or fall.
I was mostly poking fun, so don’t take my comment too seriously. That said, I question any tank or support that needs to switch to DPS to feel effective.
Don’t know but we’re having a great time, one of the best changes theyve ever done
Because positive posts don’t get any responses:
So it feels like it’s pointless to put positive feedback in the forums.
I have 0 complaints and I plan on climbing to masters by next season at this rate. Remember; just because you’re a tank or healer, it doesn’t mean you’re a SAINT.
Adjusts Halo
I didn’t realize a lighthearted quip made me saintly.
Or do your jobs “and” fail.
In previous seasons there’s always been a few games where I wonder how the heck someone is at a given rank. Constant feeding, they never kill anything, never heal, etc.
But this Beta season it’s been almost every game. There’s a dps with zero kills and just diving in over and over.
Main tanks not pushing and staying 30m from the objective as enemy gets it for free, as other 5 team members desperately try to hold the enemy off themselves.
Or dps Moira with bronze heals behind Mercy and Hog.
This season’s been a mess.
The tanks and heals that have done best have been the ones with heroes in their roster that can get picks themselves, due to unreliability of team mates.
Interestingly almost every Zarya I’ve seen has been a superstar, getting all the golds. I think they’re actually being played by Zarya mains as opposed to completely new players to the role.
One side has to lose. I guess, somehow, it’s just almost always yours? Must be bad luck, I wouldn’t worry about changing anything. I’m sure you’re doing everything right - you must be if you have enough bandwidth to analyze the performance of your teammates.
Why would you go to that trash can reddit?
There is nothing legit and only bots looking to score karma and sell the account to people that think karma means something.
Much Like competitive rating.
I am happy to hear most players are enjoying 2-2-2. It’s always doom and gloom here at the OW forums. Maybe I should visit some other site.
Very droll sir.
Not just my team. Enemy team suffers as well.
One game we even had a Soldier playing in our 2.4k game wrecking everybody. Turns out he was a masters player back in season 3, but switched to support (As “dps was boring”) and dropped down to 2.4k as support.
Obviously he’s better than 2.4k on dps when he’s doing those placement matches. Placements working as intended…
As to getting more wins. Focusing on tanks.
Dropping support entirely. Never been great at hitscan, and Bap and Ana are the new hotness.
Not bothering with dps as being able to hit scan well is kinda a requirement.
I need to learn Hammond, Zarya and Sigma pretty much from scratch and get considerably better with Hog and Rein. My Dva needs working on as well.
Previously if Orisa wasn’t working out I’d switch to dps or another support if that was the issue.
Now I need to have tanks on my roster that I can switch to if my crazy dps constantly dive in 1v6.
222 is all about depth now, not breadth of heroes.
Role Q is great BUT the beta placements are an absolute failure, making the games terrible for those placed completely out of their depths in every role.
