Why are players so conservative?

I’m not talking about politics here, but about gameplay. For example, in Clash, I like to play DPS and Support. When I’m in those roles, I’m usually the one who has to force the engagement, even if it’s not my job.

For example, if I’m playing Juno, I have to use my gate to force the tank to go in, otherwise they hang back. If I’m playing Kiriko, no one does anything until I ult. It’s the same with DPS. I can wall off the tank, as mei, we can get a kill on their tank, and then I’ll watch our tank back off. That’s never acceptable. Even if you’re down to 5 health, you push in. You’re dead either way, so you might as well be useful and push in instead of dying while retreating.

Brigg is my main support and my god do i rage when i pop ult and NO ONE FOLLOWS ME IN. WTF? WHY??? Ive watched the Hog 2 feet from me at full health, back off pushing a solo juno after i ult, and LOSing me around a building as i push. Only to end up solo facing the enemy team as the push out of spawn. Even if the brigg popping ult is wrong, and you KNOW you will lose, FOLLOW HER IN. You are dead either way, better to respawn together than trickle.

They’re not conservative, just clueless

And then there’s that one Rein… who charges if he even sees a lick of red outline and NEVER BACKS OUT!

CATCHPHRASE!!!

I will say I’ve pretty commonly been fighting 1v5 as DVA or Ball and expecting that even if I died my team MUST be getting something done because nothing is flying their way at all… and then…

Ded…
Team is through 2 doors and nowhere near the point, poking around the corners.

I think people just really really don’t like dying and aren’t willing to risk it just to potentially contribute. Downtime bad, if I’m alive at least I can bounce around and voiceline… maybe.
