numbani is easy. your dva dives top right high ground. your genji goes with her. they combo the widow instantly and then turn around and kill whoever else is up there. meanwhile anyone who can’t go high ground goes point, forcing them to either look at point and die to us, or ignore point and lose it, and die to us.
so why was i on a team yesterday where the genji literally stayed in main never diving “protecting our ana”? and they blamed ME for us losing? lol
like is matchmaking so dead that bronze players are in diamond lobbies objecting to high ground on moral grounds?
a diamond lobby where neither the genji nor the moira even once went high ground on numbani. this is why i’m obsessing over playing fallout: new vegas for the first time, instead of spending every night on OW anymore. too many people queue for dps or support and then pretend they’re the tank and they get to decide which way to go. and they will literally sabotage their tank’s engagements because they disagree with the angle and will boycott them.
It favors defenders a lot, especially if the attacking team is not running dive. So easy to hold them. I love that map, but hate it when I get a Rein or Orisa. Same with Dorado and Havana.
I swear people still do not realize that Rein is a melee hero. What are you hitting if everyone is high ground?
genji and dva dive widow who grapples to the other side dva waits for cd to boost again and look down zarya has brrrrrred rest of the team and pumping her elbows.
You can run Numbani attack with Reinhardt, but the rotation needed to challenge high ground is so unlikely to happen. You need to rush through 250hp health pack room on bottom rather than go main street or high ground, then rotate burst out into the staircase that goes to the typical defender areas. Getting people in on that strategy is really rare.
Rein shield is actually really nice for the map. Its the least wanted compared to Winston or Sigma, but I’d still take it over a dive tank who’s relatively easy to shut down such as Hammond or Dva. Doomfist/Winston players I have more faith in.
Agreed 3rd point Rein is just awful trying to push under the archway. Getting to the archway is not a problem with Rein, its trying to get around that gauntlet of having two high ground segments where Rein does nothing except hold shield.
I’d recommend Ball more on Numbani because of how easy Dva is to shut down. A good Ball wins first point before anyone has the chance to swap to counter him, and can safely swap off after.
I agree, but as you said it is very rare to coordinate all of that. Can only happen with Rein mains who know how to play at a disadvantage which again is rare.
I much rather like playing for nano Winston tbh. But then again a dive tank alone is not 100% a win, they just end up feeding if there are no dive dps or supports that can follow them.
The concept of killboxing in low elo has been delivered successfully. But don’t forget that your team is in their killbox as well as you are. They can move, rotate, focus given up space and so on
When I am defending at numbani as dps I will just force you to point or kill your genji or the backline from the point. Top right for attackers is very exposed both for the opposite hg and from the point. So it is not just like dive this or that, it is matter of rotations, focus target and ability management while trying to not feed on your commitment attempts.
But the idea is right, simple things like this can improve your low elo experience to some extent.
