Did you not just belittle me, insult me?
You’ve nitpicked a portion of my post and ignored the part where I’ve bought the conversation back to the topic.
The console issue might stem from policies with Xbox and playstation not with blizzard themselves hence why they haven’t changed it and why it is different with PC
If Blizzard want to force linking to a Battle net account on consoles (as is the case on PC) so that if you want to play multiple accounts you need to purchase multiple copies of the game, then neither Microsoft nor Sony can say anything as it’s not their IP; it’s Blizzard’s.
Both involve a player creating a second (or third, or fourth, or fifth, etc etc) account. Doesn’t matter for what purpose.
It also doesn’t matter whether you call it an alt account, a smurf account, a secondary account, or whatever.
If said player is a higher rank on their main than they are on any of their other accounts, then playing on those other accounts affords them an unfair advantage.
According to the in game reporting system, that’s cheating.
It does not matter if it is intentional or not. The end result is the same.
Anything that affords an unfair advantage in game is cheating, per the reporting system.
A Master player, for example, playing on an alternate/smurf/secondary/whatever you want to call it account that is in Platinum has an advantage over the players that are actually Platinum.
It doesn’t matter if they’re playing a hero that’s not their best. They are still bringing Master level experience, mechanical skill, game knowledge, game sense, etc into a Platinum game.
There is absolutely no doubt that affords an unfair advantage, and intentional or not, that’s still cheating per the reporting system.
Even if blizzard has the IP XBL and PSN still have their own policies that developers are obliged to follow, it could be on consoles they don’t want their consumer to buy multiple accounts, as multiple kids in a family would mean a parent is forced to buy a separate copy for every child, but multiple children having their own account and all wanting their own skins on their own accounts, makes money for them.
To disprove this or Find the real reason you would need to have read the contract between the developer and platform providers and the full policies between the two.
Until then it’s meaningless to debate the reason.
If there wasn’t a reason they would have it the same as PC on release.
It’s really not because they are basically two different games.
Console has controller as main input device and has several tweaks made to characters and such to allow for that.
PC has keyboard & mouse as main input device and also has several differences to the console version (such as text chat, for one).
As for playing on PC, I don’t remember the last time I played on there. I’ve not played it much at all, in fact. I think I got to level 25, did a couple placement matches one season and gave up in disgust because of all the toxicity.
But hey, you and the others are just at me for the LOLs, I know. Doesn’t faze me.
Now can we stop derailing this thread any more than it already has?
