Why arcade gives you boxes?

Shouldn’t they be played for “fun”?

It’s weird that the most unbalanced mode in the game is the one that forces you to win so that you can receive the prize.

I mean, if the developers admited that they have no intent of balancing arcade, then just transfer the “9 wins lootboxes” to quickplay.

As the story goes, the developers were worried there would not be significant participation in arcade modes to ensure reasonable match making and queue times so they offered bonus prizes to ensure a healthy population.

The goal isn’t to hand people loot boxes arbitrarily, it’s to encourage people to do something outside of their normal comfort zone.

who’s “forcing” you to win?

It’s an incentive, nothing;s forcing you to get them

I understand the point, but I don’t think that is much the case in arcade mode. It’s weird to think about that because… if the game mode is unbalanced and matches are goofy, why try to cover it with palliative prizes instead of actually making it a good experience?

It’s like those rats who gets the cheese even though they know it will electrocute them. lol

Well, if you want to get the most boxes in limited events, then yes it is required that you win those 9 games every week, even though you find arcade mode displeasing.

I would still pretty much live in Mystery Heroes even without any loot box incentives. So loot boxes are just icing on the cake for me.
