Check your defensive assists. Your support of your support is generally a good indicator of how much reciprocity is occurring. Healers prioritize the most helpful team mates.
Could also say when you yolo off past enemy barriers or leave line of sight of your healers, it’s to be expected why you aren’t getting healed
You should be prioritizing low health targets, not who you think is most helpful or is the biggest a**kisser.
Okay ill be sure to check my defensive assists next time I see my moira flanking the enemy.
No, if you have an upset feeder. Prioritizing that behavior is holding you back embarrassingly.
Yeah when i have to decide who to heal, then I will pick the more important teammate. Unless i have a… Dunno genji with blade, i will prio him than a tank. However mess a blade up and you lost that. (I just picked genji, can be anyone with a teamwinning ult.)
had widow whining no heals, and she, check this out…on top of a building, in the corner hidden, and me on Ana…to heal her i need to either shoot thro walls, or fly…
we won without her
Letting him die over and over is no better. It’s throwing. I’m not saying you should go out of your way to heal someone way out of position, but heal your teammates if they’re low and you can reach them. Your priority as a healer is whoever needs you the most, not whoever you deem to be worthy of your services.
Again, you’re still wrong. The person who is lowest on health might not have the utility needed to win a situation you know is coming.
By that logic, you would always heal a Tracer and ignore Rein on the misguided bias of “he has more health, I’ll never heal him.” Heal who is more important so they can tend to the other person.
I asked for healing yesterday. Volskaya point 2. I was standing to the left of the point on defense. I have 50 health. I asked for healing once. Nothing. Turns out both Ana and zen were too focused on killing. I asked again. Neither of them even turn to look at me. So I stood there for 20 seconds and finally Ana turn but not to me asking for healing. No it was when she got hit by dynamite and died. But on The bright side she saw me right before she died. Sometimes supports need to pull their sensitive head out of their butts and look when people actually ask for healing. its not an insult. It’s a cry for help.
If the Tracer is low and the Rein is half (assuming he isn’t being focused), you heal the Tracer. As a healer, it’s your job to do everything you can to make sure no one dies because that gives the enemy team the advantage. You only prioritize a player based on hero importance when there’s a chance only one will survive and you have to decide which is more crucial to the fight.
If a low health teammate dies because you didn’t heal them when your other teammates would’ve been fine, it’s your fault and you’ve effectively thrown the fight. If you refuse to heal someone because you think they’re feeding, then you’re throwing the game and are no better than they are, if not worse.
False, you heal the target mostly in need or the target that helps your team to survive a bit longer (attrition)
This can mean that you don’t heal some at 25% life but someone at 75% because he is about to get focused/will get hit by a big cd.
If he’s getting focused, then he’s in danger and effectively not at “75%” health. That’s not what I’m talking about. OP is saying that they prioritize targets based on how well the person is playing and not based on who needs healing most.
You want heals? When you’re critical, retreat or at least go somewhere that a healer can heal you. No, Baptiste cannot fly, Brigitte cannot throw armor packs through walls, and Mercy can’t pocket you if I’m respawning
Or here is a thought, when your healer is screaming for help, stop being a DPS squirrel playing TDM and chasing medals and actually help
Here are the most common things I say over voice to typical DPS and Mobile Tanks
“I’m getting jumped, need help. Guys? Need help here. Guys? Well I’m dead, thanks a holes”
“I can’t heal you. I’m in spawn. Because you let me die.”
“Dude you’re gonna die, break off so I can heal you. No, I can’t rez you, I’m on the point and you literally died at the enemy spawn”
“Anna cannot fracking shoot through walls”
“Widow come to the edge so I can heal you, I can’t get an angle with my grenades. Widow. Widow? Well she dead”
“I can’t heal you and shoot at the enemy phara that you are ignoring at the same time”
“You know what? Screw this, screw all of you, I’m going Sombra”
I agree that OP is just wrong.
Healing a crappy teammate is keeping an ult battery and meatshield alive.
Just do it
Your GOAL should ALWAYS be, prioritize healing and protection to WIN THE GAME.
EVERYTHING in-between, is just details that you all added to your own brains that slow you down. Clear the gunk out and move dynamically.
Heal/protect WHOEVER is being most threatened and heal/protect whoever is being the most threatening.
This sort of stuff isn’t chemistry, but for some reason people like to turn it into ADVANCED chemistry.
Only once I have been genuinely baffled in my head for not getting heals.
Back when I was still low gold on tank, playing Zarya on defending Hanamura. Our Mercy was walking back from spawn, she was about half way so I walked a bit back to help her get back faster. We had just won a teamfight, people were fine on health besides me being very low. Not sure what the other healer was doing (besides ignoring me) but I figured I can give Mercy ult charge while she also gets back faster. Mercy enters close enough to glide to me, but keeps walking. Ok no big deal. But then she proceeds to walk “through” me and goes on to heal a person at full health. I pressed x once, maybe she wasnt paying attention. Nothing. I go take a health pack and after that the other healer topped me up.
She wasnt pocketing anyone that game either. And I was doing quite fine that game, other tank was on Rein, and we won quite fast. I know some players look at another monitor when walking from spawn etc, but in comp especially you might just die again because of it and/or miss out on ult charge as a healer etc. As a tip in general, pay attention even when respawning.
I dont expect people to pick me up from respawn when I play Mercy, but it is always a positive surprise when people do it!
