Like brother… this is stupid. Your game already has a problem of a lacking “social” space because no one talks so your idea is to then INCREASE the level until people can talk???

If you have to “farm” endorsement for the privilege to speak, I believe that perhaps the reason is self evident.

This community is sensitive. They feel extremely offended over gg, gr, diff, plz swap, random curse words, etc. Let alone actual banter. 
If your endorsement is going down, it means you got reported and didnt get any endorsements. I didnt type anything but “gg” with a sprinkle of asking for help. In the span of a bunch of matches, I somehow got demoted from 3 to 2…?

They increased it to lvl 3 for match chat. And increased it to lvl 2 for team chat.

Gotcha. I didn’t realize it changed in the patch.
That just happens if you don’t get endorsed often enough, which is stupid. Endorsement shouldn’t decay unless someone actually reports you

So for those keeping tabs at home;
He has to “unironically endorse farm” because he can’t refuses to stay in games.
This is his fault, but it is also not his fault.
(I couldn’t tell you last time my endorse even fell naturally, hard stuck at 5)

Cause quick play doesn’t matter lol. There’s zero reason to buff up endorsement level requirement for chat, it achieves nothing other than further limiting an already non-existent social space in this game.

From my experience, people talk all the time and it is usually just to be toxic. People rarely have anything nice or useful to say in this game. So, this is a good change to me.
Also, if you say the social space is already nonexistent and nobody talks anyway, then why does it matter to you to talk in this nonexistent space?

Changes like this are why the game has a non-existent social space. Adding to the cause of the problem, only makes the problem worse.

Only the worthy, only the ones who actually make it toxic enough to get an endorsement are able to blame support!
Which is the whole point of the game really.
Nobody cares who wins or loses. You just have to think about a clever insult towards the Mercy who won the game by herself by staying near the payload while the other players were busy “flanking”.

I hate this kind of thing. I’m all for giving people options if they don’t want to see text chat, don’t want to hear voice chat, want to mute particularly annoying people etc., but don’t start out assuming everyone’s toxic and must prove themselves not to be.

I think the issue is, people don’t know how to speak to a toxic person, because society has allowed people to just label each other, which at one point, was a form of discrimination, but I guess as long as you target the “correct” labels, it’s okay to attack someone over a fabricated label that may not even represent them. People just need to learn how to talk to each other, even to someone toxic, because believe it or not, you can hype up someone who is toxic to win with you, but why would do that when you can just label someone instead and feel proud you did the -right- thing.

Maybe “competitive talk” has no place in qp which is meant as a more “casual” mode than comp?
