Firstly, Ana deserved a nerf more than Mercy, and more than one.
Secondly, it’s a nerf to her overall power level outside of pocketing, rather than actually nerfing her ability to pocket. Break points are nearly unchanged, but makes boosting your other Support or Tank worse as less damage boost = less bonus ult charge.
And finally, it’s a nerf to her overall power level while still failing to address Guardian Angel and Valkyrie. Guardian Angel needs reverting to how it was in OW1, and Valkyrie needs to be turned into an actual ultimate. Hell, this change nerfs Valkyrie more than it does Mercy’s pocket playstyles as its sole use is for pushing Damage Boost to try and out pressure the enemy before they out pressure you. So the worst ultimate in the game has received yet another nerf.
That’s why most Mercy mains are annoyed with the changes.

first, it isnt a minor nerf by any stretch. any character, not just Mercy, who has a heavily replied on power nerfed by 16.7% would be dramatically affected in a negative fashion
second, after 3 major nerfs in a row, no, Mercy did not deserve to be nerfed at all. quite the opposite, in fact
third, the use of the word “crying” indicates, to me at least, that there is no interest in discussing the matter, only rather attacking those who feel this was an unjust and unneeded nerf. Such attacks are against the spirit and rules of this forum, and as such, I ask that they cease

Mercy mafia doesn’t really exist on the forums. There’s a bunch of mercy players here but the mercy mafia stuff is on twitter. She’s the most popular hero in the game, obviously you’re going to see threads about her pop up when she gets changes

I think it’s a fairly stupid change. First off you can’t call it a “minor nerf” that barely hurts anything, and also say it’s a “Good change” that will improve the game play. Past experience with nerfs to supports just makes me think many more nerfs are still coming for Mercy.
It also does nothing for the other forms of dmg boost in the game. In fact it raises serious questions about Zen. Discord Orb now does as much as Mercy, but his affects all allies that shoot that target while her beam only boost one ally.
Zen can also fully act in every other way, healing, attacking etc while the Discord orb is up, mean while Mercy can only do one task at a time. Seems odd to have their values be the same.
Seriously. You’d think having out of LOS res, stupid mobility, and the highest healing output in the game they would expect a little nerf.
Because the ones that are upset about it are just like genji mains, crying about viability when in reality we want mercy to be relevent. Just not in this way.
It’s just the “my hero is bad so look away” complaint.
It is a small number of posts, but their blind anger at a 5% dmg nerf acting like they’ve been carrying a weight of compounded nerfs on their backs walking through a desert makes their tears taste like fine wine. 5% of them are Karens too. The other 95% are angels.

as I stated, Mercy has received 3 large nerfs in a row
Mercy was imo fairly close to well balanced before these nerfs…this series of nerfs have her at her weakest state ever in the history of the game

Mercy main here and I don’t mind her getting nerf as long as the GA is still fun to play. That’s all what matter, me having fun. I’m in low ranking so it doesn’t matter anyway because my teammates can’t shoot. Zen is way worse with his discord orb. But if you want me to complain, remove any one-shot kill in the game. That’s a fun killer right there no pun intended.
