Why add Third person view?

Why add a third person view, since it does have an advantage over 1st person view?

It’s fun to look at the skins.

You can always switch to first person if you don’t like it…

And it doesn’t really add an advantage, lol. In fact, I’d say the opposite. PubG started out in 3rd person until people complained and complained about how bad 3rd person is until they were forced to add a first person mode.

It gives a big advantage as u can see behind u and around corners quicker/sooner.

And i dont know about you, but im in a competative mode, im busy looking at the enemy and what they are doing, not looking at my skin

I am using it exclusively to stare at my heroes behind and once the doors open I switch to 1st person.

so happy we can change this, otherwise stadium would have been DoA to me like this marvel game.

Ya, and thats great and all, but 3rd person view is always known to give an advantage over 1st person view so.

Yeah, and in a game like OW, that’s not really a big advantage, lol. If you don’t know that someone is behind you, or around the corner, then you belong in bronze or whatever rank you are, lol.

doesn’t matter to me, 3rd person feels awful and wrong. thats not overwatch to me.
wouldn’t play it if it was forced and almost cried tears of joy when in my first game on player told everyone how to change it.

(everyone did)

I am glad I don’t have to deal with it.
People can use it, I wont.

On some chars it migh be better.

I saw a genji who was more aware of his surroundings thanks to that.

And it can be helpfull to hug a corner and see if somebody looks at your direction before peeking.

But tbh i feel like my aim is less accurate on third person.
Maybe because people are further from my screen.

(And on a char like rein it feels like he has latency with his Hammer because of the animation so it feels weird and also its hard to see whats on your screen when he swings lmao)

So i guess mercy players can go in third person since their only job is to GA every 2s basically.

The reason was they think that gamers can’t figure out what is going on around them in 1st person anymore with all the new abilities that they added to Stadium

Sounds like a stadium problem then. Not to mention the 3rd person cam is awful anyway. Most heroes are in the way of aiming, Even with FOV maxed

Everything they do is half baked.

first thing I did was disable 3rd person.
mode is actually kinda fun once I did that.

It has the advantage of being able to peek corners easier; third person would actually be a significant nerf to Widow as you could peek her without her ever knowing.

The disadvantage has to do with aiming and what not. It can be tougher to gauge differences in space/depth or whatever. I can never tell unless you can swap between first and third person mid game like in Skyrim.

Or Oblivion! You all had better be playing that remake!

Oh, you can disable it?

yes controlls > Stadium > camera view or something, theres not to many setting but the top drop down is 1st or 3rd person
then you have 3rd person shoulder swaps (you can swap via hotkey, but its not bound by default)

rien feels more natural in 3rd person because he’s often switched to 3rd person before when rightclicking or charging. In 3rd person, the camera is just fixed.

Genji also feels easier. I saw many genjis who cannot find the target after using SS, but it won’t be a problem anymore.

What I don’t like in 3rd person PoV is that the camera is pushed forward when there’s no space behind because of the floor and wall. There’s perhaps no solution for this because I didn’t see a game including WoW that solved this issue clearly. They often make the character invisible, but I’d rather fix the camera distance and make the structures invisible.

Because otherwise people would realize quicker that Stadium is actually not very good, but just a bunch of garbage thrown in a bowl and passed off as dessert.

3rd person distracts people from seeing it for what it is

Wait until Hanzo gets added and starts perfectly peaking around the corner for surprise one-shots.

It makes you slightly more aware of your surroundings, but this only helps at lower ELOs. It doesn’t provide much of an advantage.

I see over walls, can adjust my ad-ad to be harder to hit, spot some sneaky creatures also easier to manage very close opponents while seeing what happen at my sides.

On aim char i just press the toggle button, you have both of worlds and no need to complain really.

In 1st person view your own character doesn’t cover up half of your screen.
If my own hero was visible from waist up instead of fully, i’d concider the 3rd person view.

I find seeing my wiggling character distracting, and i keep trying to turn and shoot at it. Not for me.
I’m less of a detriment for my team on 1st person.

The wings cover half your screen. Makes it impossible to scout for enemies when floating. And taking pot shots at enemies is near impossible.
No thanks.
