Like well Designed lots of play making attention and skill expression, on the same level as JQ or Lifeweaver.
Maybe like Sombra?

Can Symmetra solo the enemy team ONLY with her aura?
Eww I hate symmetra freaking broken hero.
For play making I would say it would be a flanker, so Genji, Tracer, Reaper, Sombra, or Echo.
Not saying other DPS can’t make plays but a good flanker can definitely be the deciding factor in a win. Also flankers need to do more to secure kills compared to marksmen or utility based DPS.
the only answer is the shuriken throwing ninja
Well Symm definitely isn’t broken
Yahii param vaastavikita hai!
Aight, hear me out. Mei? You can do so many things with Ice Wall, and even Cryo. Both create solid objects, and we know the kind of shenanigans we can get up to with that. I’ve also been using the wall to suddenly climb up to higher ground and totally catch people by surprise a lot lately. I also like to use Cryo to ruin things like Echo’s sticky bomb burst (I love watching her end up beaming me at full HP), and I recently used it to cancel out a Pulse Bomb stuck to me. Also good for cleansing yourself of status effects. Cryo can be broken early, which also starts the cooldown earlier, adding another potential area for skill expression (like when we break Tree early as LW). Her ult can be quite strategic too
I think it might be a console thing because of how the aim assist drags peoples’ crosshairs towards heroes? Might make it more annoying to aim at deployables
Symmetra and Mei are some of the heroes that come to mind. The real issue is that their plays have mediocre reward.
No no I just hate her that’s all.
Symmetra, all i’ve got to say. You just walk up to D.va and fry her mech. What she’s gonna do about it? Shoot you?
You know, I find myself wanting new DPS characters more than anything. Only thing I really like and do ok with these days is Ashe, and sometimes Sombra.
Sojourn would be awesome for me if she was hitscan but projectiles never hit anything so I can never get any kills with her compared to Ashe.
Soldier is too generic, boring to play and somehow never do that well with him either. Cass feels like his gun hits like a noodle.
Widow is too hard cause I can’t hit headshots consistently. And the rest are weird projectiles or super close range and just don’t really enjoy or do well with.
I’ve found myself as a main support player and a lot of that I think is just because more support characters seem to suit me. Like I enjoy LW, Illari, Juno, Kiriko and can do pretty well with them.
Anyway yeah, for high skill and playmaking potential I’d probably say like Genji / Widow but personally feel like DPS roster is lacking a lot in general.
The “skill” conversations need to stop. Every hero takes skill and awareness to play. Some take slightly more skill than others, but there aren’t ridiculous skill gaps in the game.
I have to disagree, making a big play on Genji or Widow for example is way more mechanically demanding than say Soldier.
I agree every hero takes some skill level but I think the gaps can be quite wide. Look at Doom vs Mauga or something for another example.
Oh, adding on to what I said about Mei: you can actually make targets caught in your ult freeze faster by using your primary fire on them. So that adds yet ANOTHER layer of potential skill expression to her kit
Junkrat, definitely Junkrat
That’s a powerful emote combo you’ve got there… let me try it.
Mmm, nope, I’m not yet strong enough to use it. I need to go train some more.
The worse a hero is, the more skill it takes to get value out of them.
That is the uncomfortable truth of overwatch.
Only skill based dps is moira
none of them. thats the entire point of ow2. none of the dps have positive or favorable matchups against anything other than other dps. literally any dps can ignore and tank or support
