Who's the person in the hazmat suit?

I’ll preface this with the fact that, yes, I’m new (Season 10 was my first season of OW) and, no, I don’t know the lore or the stories behind what has/hasn’t happened to potential Overwatch characters.

I’d just like to ask about a picture I came across recently. Because it contains some iconic OW characters like Mercy, Torb, Pharah, etc but also quite a few that I’ve never seen.

I’m just curious if any of you all know whether they were changed into current heroes, completely dropped, or could possibly be released in the future?

I’m really interested in the hazmat suit character, the one with like a hover pack that seems to be holding something similar to winston’s gun, The big red brawler looking character, etc

As far as I’m aware most people assume this a roster of characters that will be featured eventually, either as actual playable characters, or perhaps just as characters featured in cinematics, comics or story modes. They likely won’t all be playable, but we don’t know for sure.

The character hovering behind mccree with the large gun is very likely the early rendition of Pharah.

Supposedly, Hazmat guy was an early concept before Ana that Blizzard confirmed was dropped in place of her. But to be honest, I’ve never been able to find the actual statement so this may just be reddit BS.

I’d love to see Hazmat guy eventually :slight_smile:

Oh no, I know that’s Pharah, I mentioned her. I meant the guy on the far right and front row with the weird hover pack thing on his back and gun that sorta looks like winstons.

I’m really hoping for hazmat guy and big red guy. haha

Personally I’d really love to see the robot woman that everyone assumes is Athena, but at the very least is another high-tech omnic. Hopefully they get put in game sooner or later!

Fun fact, during development, Pharah’s name was Mercy. And Mercy was just Angelica.

I don’t recall were I saw or heard it. But it was something about nthe hazmat suit and it’s silhouette not offering much variety.
