Who should I be focusing as DPS?

Specifically with soldier/mcree.

What I do now is focus in order of priority: Healers - DPS - tanks. I’ve noticed I can almost completely ignore tanks and only kill dps healers and it makes a significant difference on wheter i win or not. But that is if I actually manage to secure kills on the DPS/Healers, they’re small, mobile and shielded behind tanks so hard to kill.

When I mcree I usually focus heals, if they are dead or not killable I will flash/hs combo dps, if flash is down I typically just farm ult off of tanks.

TBH, i first focus whoever i see, then i focus whoever goes out of position or wastes an ability. D.va wastes fly? Might wall her off as mei and freeze her. Ana wasted nade? Gonna jump her as doom or send logs her way as pharah. Widow sitting really far back? Gonna try my best to climb to her without wasting dash, make her waste grapple, then dash to her new location. For me, it’s depends a lot on those things.

Extremely composition and map dependant. For example in goats you first take down Rein no matter what, then Zarya. Discord orb, every CC imaginable and the rest falls apart.

In 2-2-2, if you are dps is again strongly depends depends what dps you are playing. If soldier/mccree then you should not focus the backline - healers but rather make sure you are shooting whatever is on the frontline or trying to harass your backline. Tracer/genji - healers. Always. On widow, any pick is good.

But I feel If I let especially the healers stay alive it’s very hard to kill anything on the frontline, especially the tanks.

Obviously killing the healers would be ideal, but good healers wouldn’t put themselves in positions to get shot.

Just focus what’s out of position / without their escape

Thx! 20 characters.

But tanks, waht about them. Should I mostly ignore them unless they are only to things to shoot at or low hp. And how important is shieldbraking, like tearign down orisa or rein shields, what priority should that have?

Well, first off, feel free to shoot tanks. Don’t feel bad about the whole “you’re charging enemy support ults!” stigma. Not a big deal. Anyway.

It depends on your hero. Playing someone like junkrat or soldier is gonna be shield breaking more than flankers like doom. With doom, you’re gonna wanna be going for squishies, while junkrat really does well vs tanks.

If you dont mind me asking, what character specifically do you need help with, target priority wise?

Soldier 76. 20 character

Gotcha. You should be playing near your healers or on relevant high grounds, making sure you have an escape. Whoever, you can shoot from that spot, you shoot. If your team benefits from shield break (for example if your team is running a rein or widow) then shield break is great. If your team is running things like winston and genji, shield break doesn’t become as important, and shooting squishies, or whoever your team’s diving will be helpful. GENERALLY though, you’ll wanna be a shield break/peel bot

part of that is you’re playing in silver where the support don’t look out for each other…
Target wise try to notice who else on your team is putting in work, then just shoot whatever they are attacking. You will mow down other teams just doing that sort of tactic all the way into low plat

If I am playing soldier McCree or Ashe the three hitscan I play I guess throw sombra into that mix. I will take dva out first every single time. She makes my job that much harder and I can burst damage through her heals or lack there of in some cases.

soldier is hot garbage for anything but fighting tracer and shooting pharah if your flicking is bad. literal dumpster tier hero lol wouldn’t even suggest playing him. he’s not even good at shield break anymore. everything about the hero is pure trash. his ult even literally nerfs your DPS LOL

McCree priority:

Supports who are out of position
Pharah
Channeled ults that can be interrupted with flash
Charging Reinhardts
Supports
DPS who are out of position
DPS who have high ground advantage
Tanks that are out of position

I main tracer/genji and will just focus whoever is out of position and think I can kill. In a team fight, healers or whoever is discorded. Killing the main tank with pulse bomb can snowball a fight.

He got buffed though?

still can’t outdps healing and when he can your dps gets nerfed and everyone runs away from you even though it literally takes 3 whole seconds to kill 1 player

hit your rockets or throw pick

You sound stupid as hell, and probably have never seen a good soldier, so you just assume hes a throw pick. Stop trying to influence people just because you’re stupid lmfao, soldier does fine on ladder.

I have been playing Soldier right now and went from 2200’s to 2900’s really fast after I got used to him and they buffed him. He is a monster.

Bro do you have any tips, I am like how you was, usually 2000-2300 SR, would really appreciate it.

I use a lower sensitivity on soldier. 400 dpi and 7.5 in game. I used to do like 9-10 but I started destroying once I dropped it more. That may be too low for some but I got used to it. I try to stay at range so I don’t have too much close encounters and can watch my back line so lower sens benefits targeting at longer ranges. Also try to get high ground when you can and put pressure on angles. Just existing there will make them make mistakes. Just make sure you have a safe retreat too. I usually pressure shields and tanks until I see what enemy is doing then try to make a play. Sometimes breaking shield is what you need to do as well. Gotta look at comp/map.
