I personally feel like brig is lagging behind cause she doesn’t fit in the 5v5 scene and i’m saying that as a brig main
Same,
Brig has low healing and it’s a bit hard for her without some team planning.
Bap may follow because (imo) his heal cannot keep his team alive and maybe himself (not without that cooldown)
I think Brigitte is looking like the right answer here. The lines that her kit enables her to play aren’t the lines that the rest of the game is playing - she’s still too slow to be able to be everywhere she needs to be, even with the changes to Shield Bash.
It’d be a lot easier to play this backline babysitter Brig if her ultimate was something different… glad the devs are looking into that.
Bring back Brigs CC yayaya
I’d also say Brig. Her mid-fight healing is okay, but her ultimate is just so easily negligible that I often wonder if I even popped it. Even when I get the maximum amount of overhealing, it’s so pitiful.
Definitely brig. She can heal as good as a few other supports, but her utility isnt right and shes far too squishy to be a front liner. Which her kit is tailored to be
brig is still the worst support in the game yet you get bozos like Samito who claim otherwise
The worst support on OW2 is Mercy, dying on 5v5, 0% pickrate on OWL and more.
I don’t think “worst” is the best descriptor for the kind of question you’re asking. I feel like “weakest” is better since all supports are viable even in ladder climbing to a point. IMO for something to be truly bad said thing would have to be terrible even in casual scenarios where anything generally works.
That being said I think if we’re looking at the game as a whole regardless of skill brackets it has to be Brig. She has value and if played properly can still do quite a bit. But it’s also completely fair to see the level of outplaying you need to consistently do to make Brig shine would get more value playing elsewhere.
Mercy would be my second pick and she’s barely above Brig. Both are comp dependent to get good use out of. But in Mercy’s case the execution required to gain said value isn’t as demanding as it is for Brig. Arguably the only thing you need to skill on Mercy is her movement which isn’t super easy.
But it’s much easier to do anything on Mercy and get decent value compared to Brig who has to carefully manage her CD’s as well as her shield health and when to bash so she always has it as cover as well as an escape tool. Which is on top of having good positional awareness and having moderate aim skill to actually land your whip shots when you need to.
Mercy is the worst and it’s not even close. Brig is still the best backline defender actually, while Mercy just doesn’t contribute enough output, you have to min-max the living daylights out of damage boost to do what other supports do in plat.
Yeah, player ability and rank matter a ton. Mercy/Brig just ‘click’ for me in terms on how to play far better than Ana/Zen. The incredibly low mechanical requirement off Brig/Mercy means you can get quite a lot of value rather consistently with little chance to fail. While I die to nearly every flanker that comes to harass me as Ana/Zen they to me are the weakest supports.
Still think Moira is the worst support, but she gets value in lower ranks. I personally think Zen is worse than Brig.
Honestly? It’s a war between Brig, Mercy and Moira. My vote is Brig because Moira still heals a lot and brings damage to the table. Mercy brings HIGH HEELS see what I did there? And a Rez… Brig brings…???
Some form of healing a underpowered shield and mediocre close quarters dmg.
I feel with Stun, that was true, but with Lucio having access to speed boost, heals, boop, and wall ride he is actually the better backline defender with multiple methods. Brig now is just burst heal, consistent dmg, and 1 boop. However, he is harder to pull off a successful survival than Brigitte since it takes more skill to stay alive.
Brig you can throw a repair pack + inspire healing on say another ally, then throw yourself at the enemy with incredibly easy damage output and easy burst. With Lucio, if you speed boost an ally + boop they might still die to trickle damage. If you are trying to kill something you still need to land yourshots to make enough impact.
Though a single boop + speed boost can gain enough distance to prevent someone being chased around a corner to make a successful escape and boop cna knock multiple attackers away. Brig can only try to help 1 ally.
As far as feeling functional and fun in 5v5? Either Mercy or Brig fails hardest there.
Brig feels way worse this patch than last, but I guess Genji/Sombra want to be closer than Sojourn so that DPS shift probably contributed.
I can’t really commit to either being “the” worst since IMO they both suffer from similar issues to different degrees.
There’s really no worst healer, each healer excel for each situations. The proper term would be weakest, Mercy still gets it.
I mean, there are certain Support Hero I always pick base on the enemy tank and dps, and choose which one gives the team more trouble.
What I use based on the enemy tanks:
- Winston - Brig, or Ana staying all the way back where I can’t get dive.
- D.Va - Brig, or Bap because I can exploit jumping up and down, making D.Va question if she want to waste her time chasing me or to protect her team.
- Reinhardt - Ana, Bap, Kiriko, Zen. Ana and Kiriko are good at punishing a Reinhardt that likes to charge a lot. Zen has discord, and Bap makes it so that Reinhardt can’t reach him with constant vertical repositioning.
- Stigma - Ana, Bap, Kiriko, Zen.
- Orisa - Ana, Zen to help kill, or Kiriko, Lucio, Bap, Moria to avoid fighting him.
- Roadhog - Ana for anti-nade, Zen for discord.
- Zarya - Zen for discord, or Baptise and Kiriko to help burst her down if team has the raw power and coordination to focus fire.
What I used base on the enemy dps if they are causing more trouble then their tanks:
- Genji - if really good, lucio or brig.
- Tracer - if really good, moria.
- Pharah - Ana or Bap.
- Bastion - Ana to sleep turret form.
- Junkrat - no answer.
- Widowmaker - Lucio if the WM has too much free space and not being pressure.
- Sombra - I have rarely ever lose any duel to Sombra hacking me at my rank.
Why I don’t pick Mercy in any situations is not really because she’s bad, but because I’m very bad with her. The passive playstyle frustrates me, making me very irrational in decision making.
Don’t forget, I also have to change my support hero selections based on what map I’m playing on. I only play Zen on two maps really.
I would disagree with this as Bap can really do some heavy damage, reposition himself with his boots and his lamp is still really good. IMO
I’ve seen some quite good Brig on the field in lower elo silver.
She seem strong but hard to play with.
I find all support strong , when in the right hand.
Mercy would seem to be the less strong. I used to main her but switched to Moira and get much more done.
I seen few good Battle Mercy. Resurection is in my opinion the only reason to pick Mercy as of now
Nah bruh, not with that cooldown and the lamp dies easily if targeted (which is a lot)
love people asking for brig buffs
i already destroy with her, now it will be even better :DD
