Who is “famous” on the forums?

I’m known as the “Mei-gathread guy”, i still remember the golden time of Mei-gathread, when it was very active

It’s interesting, just scrolled through this entire thread now and recognised the names of pretty much every poster >2000 posts. Can’t ever recall seeing a lot of the btags for the ~1000 and esp. <1000 crowd.

What’s funny is there’s a few 5-7k post count people I swear I’ve never even seen on here before, somehow, lol. Perhaps they’re always on at different times? And/or always post in different topics…?

OP: As far as numbers of famous people on the forums, FYI there’s currently 622 Level 3’s here. Some of the past famous have decayed out of Level 3, for sure, but that gives you a rough idea of who is moderately-highly active around here.

Neat information. Yay I’m 1.

Now where’s the other 620?

I would have guessed there were a lot more level 3’s. People need to stop getting banned.

It would be kinda funny to make a random level 3 role call thread and see how many of us respond LUL :joy:

It’s not the bans, it’s the activity requirements (threads read, readtime, posts, whatever)

The requirements don’t seem that hard to maintain once reached, and I’ve seen several ex-level 3’s complain about “unfair” action on their accounts taking it away. I just assumed the actioned group was significant compared to the failed requirements group.

I’m fairly sure it’s both…
I’ve never lost my TL3 although I was banned once while having it, but I’ve seen plenty others who were banned and lost theirs, as well as many who decayed.

Not entirely sure how long it’d take to regain the status, but I’d think it’d depend on the height of the ‘‘crime’’ or the depth of the decay.

Posts read is pretty high, imo… yeah for the highly active (ex. Jelly) fair yet harsh suspension leading to temporary loss of level 3 has been a thing. My own wild guess is people like me on the borderlines of level 3 requirements (~30-40k read, <1000-~1000 posts) frequently rotate in and out of level 3 and comprise like 80% of the level 3’s. But this is a wild uninformed guess assuming exponential fall-off in user count at higher activity count levels.

I’ll add that I was suspended once (minor, harsh but fair actioning) and did not lose level 3 at the time.

It’s an average of 200 posts/day over the past 100 days (20k total).
Doesn’t seem like it’s that hard to me, but I also spend way too much time here as is.

There is also a 2 week grace period before you fall back out of level 3. May not be as frequent as you think, but again, just a guess.

Well , JellyandJam and RichC are definitely famous here.

But there are tons of people I recognize : Titanium , RevertMercy(xxavypls) , Kiwi, MagyTheMage, RosenAria, wheatlycraft, ChibiFox, Tenor, Somvra, QuizzyBunny, AzshFayd, Xian396

They’ve left a good impression and is always nice to talk to.

Now , I need a positive post from JellyandJam to make my day

How did i do?

(this is a joke btw)

Well known or famous?

There’s a lot of “well known” people, those who have thousands of posts. Tenor, STriver, DarthWinston.

Now, FAMOUS, you’re talking JellyandJam, RichC, Titanium, SunsetHippo. They’re known for being positive, Titanium has a big following for their elaborate mercy posts.

I would also point out some are known for difference things. Some carry a bad rep with them.
