Has Blizzard ever posted a list of which heroes get the most kills with their ultimate? Some type of list sorted by skill tier?
I am wondering who has the most OP ultimate according to Blizzard stats.
if combos doesnt count think about game changer ultimate like d.va , reaper,junk or zarya. special mention to soundbarrier. personally i think is dva self destruction because ppl need get cover and leaving the point.
It depends entirely on what kinda use you’re looking for, and it depends on a bunch of variables. Do you want to incapacitate a team? Or pure damage, disregarding situation? Damage when situational variables are taken into account? Or give you more control over game flow?
Zarya’s ult does barely any damage, but it’s great for incapacitating teams because they’re sitting ducks if they get caught.
If you’re going for raw kills, I guess Genji or Pharah would have the most damage potential, because Soldier needs time to kill people and Mccree is kinda hit-or-miss at times.
Moira ult is crazy good too because of its pushing potential, but at the same time Widow’s ult gives you complete map control, but Torb’s ult stalls a push for 12 secs…
See where I’m going with this? Every ult does something different, so it’s hard to rank them based on kills or damage. A dragonblade might kill people, but it’s often the grav or hammer that lets the dragonblade be used to its full potential.
That being said, what ranking metric, specifically, are you looking for?

Widow’s ult is still underwhelming when benched against all other ults.

You’re right when it comes to damage and teamfighting. But when you’re against a high-tier widow, it’s great for stalling pushes and picking people off before the fight even starts. Not to mention flanker spotting.
I’ve seen streamers like Zerg and Kephrii where a peek during their ult means instant death haha
Genji, tracer and junkrat probably have the best ults in terms of getting kills on their own. But zenyatta has arguably the best ult in the game, one of the reasons his pick rate is so high.

Peek-a-boo sniping is something I exploit as well. There is a brief delay after Widow activates her ult before she makes her map-wide announcement – quite useful against enemy cover snipers. However, such an ability feels more like an F or E ability like Hanzo’s Sonic arrow since it deals no direct damage nor modifies weapon properties.
You’re right. I suppose it’s because as a sniper, the most valuable thing would be to know where to aim before the enemy actually reaches that spot, rather than relying on reflex. But, now that we’re on the topic, what would be a good ult for Widow?
Zenyatta, Genji, and D.va.
Widow has two glaring weaknesses – 1) Her infrasight feels more like a cooldown ability than an Ult 2) Her assault rifle’s large spread limits its usefulness against flankers and distant targets. Since buffing her sniper rifle would be game breaking, I suggest giving her assault rifle an accuracy boost and no damage fall-off while Infrasight is active. This would give Infrasight close-in combat utility that Widow sorely lacks.
Another option is to give Widow skill reset-on-headshot-kills, but this starts infringing on Genji perks that many will not appreciate

Oh boy i love the idea of skill resets on kills. Shoot, spiderman, shoot, spiderman. Imagine the floating jumpshot after jumpshot
Tracer ult is a free kill if u know when to use it.
