Who else will get a Revert-Rework?

Rumor has it, Roadhog is getting a Revert-Rework. The Devs are finally coming around!

Who else will get a Revert-Rework? Will it be Bastion? Orisa? Maybe even Symmetra?

Hopefully Sombra, back to a version where she was playable.

Sadly, I don’t think there is a version that could avoid getting mass banned at this point. OW1 Sombra though superior designs, can’t function in 5v5 and pre-virus OW2 Sombra (tho also better design) was what started all the mass hate from squishes in the first place.

Given they’ve said they’re aiming for a “final” rework, I think it’s safe to say we need to prepare ourselves for a major shift. At a minimum, I can’t imagine the silence surviving.

Symmetra reverts to her 1.0 form, including her HP stat. The monkey’s paw curls. Doomfist reverts to a one shotting DPS. The monkey’s paw curls again. The monkey’s paw has one pretty conspicuous finger still pointing up…

Sadly the revert for Roadhog will probably be a nerf. Pig Pen was the one skill that could effectively still do damage to heroes like Reinhardt and Dva. Tanks that would render Roadhog completely useless because he relies on primary fire damage to kill. It also helps to secure kills on more nimble heroes that can get away easily like Tracer, Genji and Lucio because it also had a slowing effect. Removing that versatility from his kit will be a straight up nerf.

But we got his alt fire back that nets me a random one shot kill once in every 50 games!!!

That’s totally worth hard nerfing him at the same time as we give other tanks straight insane buffs right?

Right???

Well, not every buff. Reinhardt actually gotten nerfed with the removal of every perk that gives him extra survivability. But hey, now he can charge at enemies and heal his shield!

Because that’s when you want to use your shield, right? Right in front of your enemy? Where they can walk past it and KILL YOU because you’re not fighting back?

Don’t worry, he won’t do enough damage to one-shot!

Thankfully most Reinhardt players are not like that. It’s worthwhile having your shield charge a little more when you do pin someone. It gives you some extra value for your effort. This focuses on productive play time more than reactive perks. Plus Ignited Fury will pair well with Crusader’s Fire. Especially when the other team is not playing Rein. 25% attack speed every 2 seconds is a decent change of pace for Reinhardt, too. He will get even more value from hitting multiple enemies as well.

You shouldn’t only charge to try and get pin kills, using it for general mobility is advisable. The kill potential is the most important aspect of charge naturally, but it also just allows Rein to cross large spaces faster.

I don’t know if the perk will be great, but it certainly could be if the amount restored is meaningful.

Which sadly means she will likely be even more annoying than ever before. People keep screaming about how hack is the problem but every rework so far has listened to that and toned down hack in exchange for lethality, and unsurprisingly each time she is hated even more than the last.

The further she strays from her initial design as a low damage disrupter into the 5v5 “brawl” design with more damage and mobility, the more annoying she will keep getting.

It’s definitely not going to be Sombra. It’s sounds as if they are breaking their backs trying to figure her out. A revert is the most simple solution. So, it’s safe to say that is not on the table. I would be fine with it as the AKJ of Sombra. Virus is the problem. She needs vaccinated.

Ideally every hero who’s gotten a major rework would get reverted. It’s never gonna happen though, because it would make me happy, and Blizzard is determined to make me specifically as unhappy as possible. /s

The amount scales with distance, and I imagine that’ll make the issue of Rein’s charging far away from their team worse. Its easy to just declare it a skill issue, but I don’t think that’s a fair argument when the game seems to be promoting that kind of play style. Its like if Soldier 76 got a perk where he gets a buff from leaving his clip empty, and when he dies people go “Idiot Soldier didn’t reload”.

This is just best case scenario though. And he already had a perk that gave him something extra for his effort. It gave him overhealth, but they removed it. Besides that, there will be numerous cases where you’ll charge in, get the pin and now be stranded with just extra shield health and in an exploitable position.

Reinhardts die like that now. Charging it wit a full shield but at best you just killed a squishy so now either its a 4v5 with the tank aggro on you, or you just gave the tank your team while the enemy you have to fight are out ranging you. This is with a full shield. And what if you charge the tank? Will you even have time to hold your shield out while you’re trying to secure that kill? And the shield regenerates on its own, so while you’re swinging, you’re already getting shield health back if you don’t already have a full or nearly full shield.

You mean to tell me I’m supposed to take a minor perk that may not matter and go “Well, gee, its good to have something EXTRA that I may not benefit from”? While Genji gets bleed damage and refreshings on his dash, or Sigma just gets to heal his shield on his M1? Why does Reinhardt always have to settle for “well, at least you got SOMETHING!” while everyone else just gets good stuff?

But if I charge away, the shield health is irrelevant because I’m already away from the fight. I’ll just turn a corner. And Rein could already cross large spaces faster, and his team would go “holy cow, our Rein’s charging in alone”.

You can charge at enemies, you can charge towards enemies, you can charge across a sightline laterally, you can charge towards teammates, you can charge away from enemies, there’s plenty of ways to go about it

The issue with most of those is spacing yourself from your team. Also, what’s Reinhardt going to do if he charges a sightline laterally without his team? He’s needed to ferry teammates across dangerous areas, and high mobility characters don’t need him for that while low mobility characters will now be abandoned.

And again, charging away from the enemies has the problem of “now my shield is irrelevant so the health gained doesn’t matter” Also, you give up all of your space for that.

And also, charging at enemies and charging towards enemies is the same thing with the same problem. "Now I’ll wait here for my team to catch up! " while the enemy just sees Reinhardt in an exploitable position. I mean, its possible the enemy team is bad and doesn’t think “hey, lets all shoot his shield since he’s away form his team and out in the open”, but I shouldn’t have to rely on my enemies being stupid for a perk to work out.

And remember: they took away two good perks to put this one in. Before, you could charge and wait and actually heal while they’re closing the gap. Even if they kill your shield you healed actual health back! Before, you could charge enemies and get health for it. Even though you’re in the enemy team, you have extra health!

I could do all of that charge forwards and back and left and right and have more survivability. I don’t think there’s any value in just pretending this perk doesn’t seem insane when you consider everything.

Torbjorn having to upgrade his turrets with scrap will be coming back trust me.

As long as it’s without hack, stealth, opportunist, and translocator having a MUCH longer cd, then sure
