none of them are from a support to help an anti’ed ally → ana inherently higher up on the support balance hierarchy because other supports can’t do anything about anti-debuff on allies except for lucio beat and a bap lamp backed up by many prayers that allies can live with 40hp after.
Its powerful, but not broken. Its unique and a standalone within the game, so naturally its going to get some negative attention. However, its prone to misfires (hitting unintended targets) and as you’ve mentioned above, there is counterplay, and its all very prevalent.
In the past before the barrier wars, dive effectively deleted her, and that powerful ability not only couldn’t save her, but couldn’t net any kills on a lineup packed with synergies and overlapping abilities that make her useless.
I should reduce grenade cooldown 2 secs and increase the potency 10% then "REMOVE THE NEGATE-HEALING effect"
Ah yes the lego, the worst torture device mankind has created
If you’re having problems with anti-nade, go zarya, she’s the only tank that can cleanse herself & her teammates.
Frankly I think it’s nice that a main healer has an ability that can carry games, you have to rely less on your teammates to win.
That subtle rework suggestion
It is annoying but not really OP. I believe it received no changes so I am not sure what is different about it now.
If you’re hit with nade
Zarya bubble?
Moira fade?
sombra translocate?
Tracer recall?
Reaper Wraith?
or you could just block the projectile with D matrix, Kinet grasp or a good old fashioned barrier.
Nade has more than enough counterplay.
So you are saying that she must have always been meta to even consider her for a nerf?
Just answer one question, which healer has a CONSISTENT counterplay in terms of cooldowns, saving his/her team constantly, IF they get naded?
Furthermore, which other healer can completely cancel an ult like Ana’s anti nade does with Zen’s?
Not saying she needs a massive nerf but thinking she does not need any sort of adjustment is lying to yourself. Specially when healers like Bapt get butchered and left on the trashcan but Ana is untouchable.
Playing the dive card is stupid considering that Brig did not even exist. Nowadays, Brig + Ana can destroy dive, or at the very least stop it. Imagine if your team get a Mei, Mcree, Reaper, etc., on top of that…
Than shields have to follow the same rule.
Yes but Ana is allowed to be overpowered because we pretend she takes aim.
She does not.
From another support hero, there is little they can do to counterplay.
Brig can try to block it with her shield and Maybe moira and mercy can get out quick to save themselves but that’s it.
It’s really depends on the other roles to help save themselves so the supports can keep healing.
It’s a strong ability but not OP.
Just the roles that it is the hardest on is the other supports and they have very little counterplay against nade.
My take is the ability is not broken but just not engaging to play a against as a healer. In comp when I can rely on my tanks to block it its ok, but in QP where my tanks get splashed everytime they walk forward, there is nothing I can do as a healer. I think Ana is a powerhouse cause she has a stun which can stop ultimates and even is effective against ultimates like primal and blade that do not get canceld by it. And on top of that she can completly block healing even for ultimates like trans. For me its similar to when everybody was ranting about Baps lamp cause he could block a teamwiping ult with an ability on cooldown. Ana can block a teamsaving ult with an ability on cooldown, but while you can kinda bait out the lamp and play around its long cd, the 10 seconds cd on nade is kinda akward to play against. So I think just reducing the healing recieved or blocking the next x healing recieved would be something to test out on the experimental card. Or just give someone an ability like Lucios ult as a healer on cd.
It was nerfed two times in the past. First the healing buff from 100 to 50% and 2nd it’s duration iirc
Woah, no need for that punishment
But you also need to think about what anti-nade PREVENTS from being overpowered… crazy burst and sustained healing, huge defensive ultimates, certain flankers, provides good counterplay to most healing abilities, forces the enemy to recognize Ana as a threat (as they should)…
And it also helps keep Ana from being underpowered. Most Ana’s don’t even average 3k hero damage per 10 minutes. Take out the damage and value from anti-nade, and you’re honestly killing Ana.
If it was nerfed, a lot of balance would be through out of whack. So how do you address the issues this would create?
I’m down for a 75% reduction in healing but only if she gets a compensation buff.
Or, leave it at 100% and give a new Support an aoe cleanse
It also used to deal 100 damage instead of 60.
(I think)
I never said such a thing.
It’s question i was asking hence the question mark.
I will add this though.
The counter to nade is to disable ana as a whole. Which was easily done with dive. She has no real escape to counter a coordinated dive like it was played when dive meta existed. So she if she gets deleted early on, less heal or no nade for at least 10 seconds is a big plus for the opposing team.
Additionally, most Ana’s can’t/dontnknow how position themselves properly to avoid getting killed by a dive team. Some dont even communicate that a winston or genji is on them.
Even if you get naded during your dive, you can still eliminate ana with diva + winston fast and then jump out/booster out of the hot zone whilst tracer/genji kills the other healer or whatever and still survive long enough to get topped off by your Mercy.
But that was back then.
I digress…
And nowadays, people know how to counter dive and have more avenues to do so. But back then the only way to play against dive was…another dive team. And also a really good Widow (arguably)…
Even if brig is there to stop the dive:
Winston doesnt even really need to delete ana to be effective. He just has to disrupt her long enough to prevent her from healing or bait the nade and jump out. Just like the stupid hamster. Even if brig was there to support ana, it can still be done
Heck an annoying flea like tracer can disrupt ana’s gameplay enough to prevent her from healing teamamtes.
Or the worst offender, a flank Hog. LOL.
The OP said Ana was a must forever.
I was merely saying that she wasnt. Ana came to power because Mercy and brig and all this other crap, got gutted. The nade has been the same nade in that it denies healing since time existed. But she wsnt always a must. No one complains when she isnt picked. But when suddenly she is powercrept or simply crept into the meta everyone suddenly has problems with it. Like…come on man.
But to set the record straight:
Does the nade need tweaking even if she was/wasnt meta?
No. I dont believe it does simply because of scenarios like this:
A nade can hit people but there’s not damage to follow up/capitalize the anti nade.
Or.
The nade hit people but nothing dies but your own team because you didnt nade them instead.
Or.
If zen ults to back up a genji blade, there is very little you can do to stop the masterswordsman.
Or.
Zen ults during grav.
Nothing dies in the grav ball because of zen. But instead your team dies having wasted zar ult and whatever ult you threw in that push. Then the unthinkable happens…Lucio ults for no reason (on both sides). Heh.
Or.
Everything else stupid about this game.
they need to lower it from 100% less healing to 70 or 60 but then buff her heals back up to 75 and her dmg up to 75 as well.
