Why are yall like this? Please consider that some of us don’t play ranked, and want to do well outside of it.
Out of curiosity, why don’t you play ranked if the casualness of QP is tilting you?
In QP I like to what I call "try medium"I work to win but since Im there to relax and learn new hero’s I don’t sweat it, unless my teams are being toxic or something.
Comp isn’t nearly as toxic as people suggest. If you just play to win without worrying about the results as much its just a longer quick play with a bit of risk and a lot more coordination.
Because I like the casualness lmao. I don’t like sweating over my rank and I honestly don’t care more than the average person about winning in QP but when I try to communicate and coordinate with my team and somebody jumps in chat with, and I quote, “oh my GOD who cares it’s quickplay” it just makes me feel bad. I’m just trying to have a good game.
Same! I think QP is fun and relaxing whereas comp is fun but stressful. I don’t play games to stress out.
Toxicity is only one of the reasons I prefer QP. I agree that comp is just QP with a gold star stamped on your results - I usually do my placements and move on, if I even do my placements at all. I don’t like how it makes people attack each other for how good or bad they are or aren’t so it’s not my preferred game type. Plus people in QP are generally just nicer haha.
LFG QP is the best way to play.
For those that want to practice, DM is your friend, where you can only hinder yourself.
i do not play comp when iam tired, some people do not want to play it without their buddy… some people take breaks when they go on a losing streak.
doesnt mean that qp is for throwing… its actually terrible because new players will get a horrible impression for their first matches. maybe rename it into trollmode at this point.
Seriously, there’s no need to sweat over your rank, it’s literally meaningless in the end. So long as you’re not throwing or trolling, then having casual games in ranked is fine.
no its not… and thats a huge problem why ranked is so bad/frustrating.
This. I mean, I’m fine with people playing characters they want to learn or doing things they wouldn’t normally do but when we roll out with 5 snipers and no shields and I suggest a tank, it would be nice to not be demeaned with ‘shut up, it’s quickplay.’
I mean, that’s your opinion and it’s valid but if I were to play comp I would worry about my rank. I can see how people who main play ranked wouldn’t mind so much but knowing that I’m a slew of terrible games away from dropping down to gold/silver/bronze would stress me to the nines.
It’s the retort of the lazy quite honestly. QP is a competitive game, even Blizz says that it’s not training for anything. Realizing that for comp players in QP, it’s a cheap get out jail free card for any responsibility to help the team, I have decided to take the attitude that I really would like to win, but I can’t help the passive sabotage of those who don’t care, so all I can do is judge my own efforts in the game. What they fail to appreciate is that QP is the game for many people, quite possibly more people play QP than play comp. It would be no different really than people who like QP coming into comp and saying “well this is really no different than QP, you just get to see your MMR”… I wonder how they would feel about that…
On the one hand, I feel like the people who say this have a point because you’re gaining XP and getting closer to another loot box whether you win or lose. It’s not like arcade, where you need 9 wins in a week to get three loot boxes, and it’s not like ranked where you only gain SR and get closer to a shiny gold weapon if you win.
On the other hand, it sucks to just get steamrolled by the other team (not helping matters is how if the match ends quickly due to said steamrolling, and the other team is so dominant that you can’t manage to get a lot of eliminations or assists or healing done, you won’t get much XP out of it). I mean, I can live with a QP loss if my team actually put up a fight, but that doesn’t always happen. (And yeah, sometimes that’s on me as much as anybody else.)
Because it IS just quickplay, if you want to play serious then go Comp or even better, play a good game instead.
You automatically feel comp is “more serious” than QP… why because you can see your SR? Just as many people f’off in comp…
Can’t argue with that one, you’d never be able to find a game of comp where everyone decides to just chill and not play the objective.
Thank you. I don’t feel like quick play is a less valid form of Overwatch (and I don’t think the developers do either, it’s where all of their players start.) than any other and I wish others would consider that. Not to mention your QP MMR weighs in to your rankings, too? It seems like people would care just a little more than they do. If you really want to troll or throw there’s tons of custom games and LFG groups for that.
I enjoy the fact that your 666th post is one where you try to make players who prefer a game mode different than the one you do bad about wanting to do well.
I don’t find Quick Play very toxic. Mostly they are good games where everyone shakes hands and says GG in my experience in about 700 hours of it.
I can’t tell if you’re trying to snark or not – I love matches like that. Chill and casual and fun. If every match were like that I’d lose my mind, but if multiple teammates want to hang out and have a emote dance-off then I’m there for it all day.
No, it’s not bad or frustrating, at all, even when some twerp is tilting, which is my point and why I feel he should play comp if QP is tilting him. Sorry, but I’ll NEVER take it seriously and it seems to be working as most of my games people are very chill and communication is high.
In QP, if I say anything, even something as simple as “Shield is about to break”, I get some of the dumbest responses. Like I’m being silly just for showing even the tiniest bit of trying.
Haha I didn’t notice that
I mean when I played this game I always tried my best no matter what mode I was playing, QP or Comp, but whenever I needed to learn a new hero I went for QP because it comes the closest to comp.
