Do you guys actually care for the lore? Doing a little poll because, to be honest, I only know a very few amount of Overwatch players that actually like it. Let’s not consider all the homosexual controversy I am just talking about Blizzard spending time on fleshing out a story to this multiplayer FPS.
Tell me in the replies please.

Yeah I care, and I wish they did it more, but hey, with OWL sucking all the funds what can you do? (boycott OWL, thats what).

I find lore to be really fun and interesting, it adds depth to the characters and it can even encourage me to play a certain character.

Depends
I care if they do something with it like make Books, Cartoon, Comics, Movies ect. That are actually about the OW universe
I don’t care if it is bastion opening X-mas gift on Christmas though

I think it’s pretty great to have lore happening, even in the background. It lets the game evolve and the characters to be more than just boring pixels that have niches and that’s it. The lore also helps give reason for voice lines, character progression, generally helps make the game less about just shooty-bangs, and more interesting.

No. It doesn’t affect the gameplay at all. I’m playing a game, overwatch isn’t a TV show or a movie where story matters.

Generally, I’d say yes. Particularly the characters are interesting (most of them). I just wished they go somewhere with it.

You’re right. It’s a video game where story matters.

I like Lore, but I don’t like when give too many details about certain heroes, part of the fun of a hero is being able to project onto them. Wouldn’t mind if they didn’t divulge too many details about heroes.
I used to be really interested in the lore. It had a good premise, loved the animation, it looked to be just that classic Blizzard feel when it came to fleshing out a world. Then lore became non-existent. After 3 years, the story still has barely gone past Recall. While I enjoy the stories of the past, they are so far and few between that I kinda gave up on it. I stopped expecting lore because it became clear they are not putting any reasonable required funds to develop it and their focus shifted from the game to OWL.
What’s even worse is that both lore and the game are in an abysmal place. I’d be okay with one or the other but both is really a sucker.

Nope. In a game where the characters are killing duplicates of themselves and siding with villains they should hate I find it hard to care. I hope theres no more controversies now.
I do.
I personally want to see more Junker lore. I can’t get enough of it. I also want to see if the entire cast ever meets up like the damn Avengers.
It’s fun that it’s there and it makes the world more believable but ultimately I just don’t care about the lore or the characters’ backstory. It doesn’t make a difference to how the game plays so it doesn’t matter to me.

So far it’s 11-5 with caring for the lore winning. Wow, I don’t personally care for the lore and thought it was a waste of time but yall are proving me wrong. Apparently people actually pay attention to it. To be honest, I’ve only ever watched the McCree cinematic and it was to see what Ashe could do for competitive reasons, otherwise I wouldn’t have watched it.
I care. I love story in games, im such a fanatic when it comes to that kind of thing.
People can say cod doesnt have story but get back to me when you understand the zombies lore

This is not at all an accurate focus-test though.
Your thread title is naturally going to attract people who care about the lore to reply. Also this is an incredibly small sample of the playerbase which is in the millions (if we are to believe Blizzard’s numbers)
