Who are the easiest heroes to play?

Obviously ease of play is slightly objective, but in your opinions what characters are the easiest to get the most benefit from?

We all think we’re better than we actually are, so with that, I want to know what heroes I can play that can give my team the absolute maximum benefit with the least amount of skill.

If you could provide me with at least one tank, one dps, and one healer I would appreciate it.

Brigitte is all these.

Brigitte is the easiest. Mercy used to be the easiest, but is still somewhat easy, just not as easy as before.

Soldier 76 and Roadhog used to be easy too, but not anymore.

lol wut 20 char needed

Mercy is the easiest support hero. She doesn’t have to worry about attacking and she has great mobility along with self heal.

Any number of DPS heroes could be fighting for this spot. New Sombra is easy mode and Mei doesn’t require very much input for impact either. Junkrat is terribly easy too and Hanzo is just so powerful it’s hard to suck with him. You can take your pick in the DPS category.

As for tank? I’m not sure myself. It really depends on what you define as easy and even then most tanks difficulty changes with whatever their supporting cast is. If I have to make a decision I’ll say Rein. His kit is simple and straight forward.

Tracer, Widow, Lúcio and Brigitte.

And by no means I say that any of those heroes are easy to play, or that they are OP. (well, maybe Widow)

Brigitte is too damn resilient. Unless she goes in trying to solo the entire enemy team by herself, it’s really hard to kill her if you manage your cooldowns. Notice that I don’t consider her overpowered, but she is really easy to keep alive, and staying alive means you contribute more to the fight, regardless of how well you do.

Lúcio have a lot of nuanced mechanics (wallride, crossfade timing, that weird 4-beat sonic gun), but he is one of the few heroes that helps his team by the simply fact of existing. If you turn your healing aura, and literally do nothing but stand around your team, you are giving a ton of contribution. Ergo, he is easy to get some benefit.

Tracer have too much mobility, and deal too much damage. Yeah, a bad Tracer will waste her blinks to approach, be stunned, and instakilled. But once you get the basic gist of the character, it’s extremely easy to keep her as that pestering fly that never dies. And because of her damage potential, the enemy team can’t ignore a Tracer zipping in the backline. So, even if you have only the bare basics of her down, you are giving a lot of contribution to your team by simply being a constant annoyance and distraction.

Widowmaker have range in her favor, and the main reason I list her here is because she basically only requires one skill: aiming. Again, I don’t mean that aiming as Widow is easy, but when you fight a mile in the backline, you have much less pressure going into each shot than McCree or Soldier in the frontline.

Also, I know someone will say that, so… yeah, I’m not talking about Master/GM playing those heroes. I’m talking about mid and low tier players. Once you get high ranks, everyone knows more than the “basics” of their main heroes, and supposedly they know the basics of every other hero. So, of course, a GM Widow will require more than “just good aim”, but that goes for GM Mercy, Soldier, Reinhardt, Torbjörn, and whatever hero you want to list. Once you get past diamond, you need to do more than just “know the basics” to properly use any hero.

Honorable Mentions:

  • Pharah (need air control, so not as easy)
  • Soldier (need to have great cooldown management, so not as easy)
  • Bastion (need team protection, so not on his full control)
  • Mercy (lost that title somewhere around all the nerfs post-rework)
  • Moira (barrier fix made her difficulty to play around shield tanks)
  • Symmetra (so OP they had to remove her from the game)

Reinhardt, Reaper, Mercy. Fulfilling their primary function is the easiest to do

That would be more impressive if most legally blind people still had some vision.

I’d have to agree.
I started out as her, and still love to play her.
She has a set that is quick to master, but her play style just keeps building as you improve and there’s a lot of room to grow.

Tank: Dva

DPS: Solider 76

Healer: Mercy. Bri, but she is counter able if you over extend your hand.

I honestly don’t think Solider is as easy as people say. His kit doesn’t take much to master. But he REALLY needs to hit shots. A soldier is almost never going to get as much damage as Hanzo and Junkrat do for way less effort,

Widow, Hanzo, Genji, Tracer. That’s what all the low level carries seem to play…

DPS- Reaper
Support- Moira/Mercy/Brigitte (three way tie)
Tank- Reinhardt

Mechanically:
Tank - Winston
DPS - Junkrat
Support - Moira

Game Sense Wise:
Tank - Orisa
DPS - Torb
Support - Lucio

Dva is easiest to play. Since she has too much damage and two live and quickly get mech.

I like your list but I would substitute Orissa for Rein. On Rein it can be tough to decide whether you should be playing aggressive or defensive. Orissa doesn’t have to decide between the two.

Support: Brig (duh)
Tank: Dva (shes a simple character very easy to pick up)
DPS: Junkrat (relatively simple character design, minimal aim and good escape)

Moira. Just throw the balls, zug enemies from a safe distance, and fade if somebody gets too close to you.
