Which McCree main asked for the hero to come tankier

I just wanna know why Cree has been forced into this niche far removed from what he’s been since 2016.

I despise Cree as this slightly tankier hit scan whose gun magically refuses to do damage to people past Hog Hook range.

Id much sooner nerf his tankier aspects just to bring him back to being able to actually contest Ashes and Widows, or sniper pharah type players, because I cant describe how disgusting it feels to triple headshot someone just to barely move their needle past half.

Ashe is just outright better 99% of the time, you only play cree cause you like cowboy with revolver at this point.

As a tank player I can tell you its not fun to see McCree hit back to back right clicks and decimate my health bar, while also being half tank if they have even one healer focusing them.

In the end I agree. Make McCree less tank and more pew pew.

I mean isnt that the point??? if a dps character is literally the best dps character in terms of damage/range and ONLY gets outclassed by snipers or a literal pharah shooting from the other side of the map then what are you complaining about???

I tend to agree that McCree feels at his best when he has higher range. Id very well trade his health for that range back. Its just more fun to not feel like tou have a peashooter, and I do prefer him to more sustained damage characters like Soldier for dealing with fliers.

What you should really be asking is either “Why does Ashe have 250 hp?” or “Why does both McCasserole and Ashe have a 2x crit multiplier?”

When you compare Ashe to McCancelled as they are now, you simply cannot have them at the same hp. But instead of giving Ashe 175 hp (pre-global hp buff) or 225 hp (post-global hp buff), they wanted her at the standard 200/250. That means McRightclick has to have more hp than that in order to have a real reason to pick him over Ashe.

When they both share the same crit multiplier, it makes it so he has to do less base damage per shot for clear balance reasons. They could give him a 1.5x multiplier but have him do 80-85 damage per shot, therefore eliminating direct comparisons between the two and allowing him to be at the standard 200/250 hp.

Im complaining that he can no longer directly impact half the common contest points in any given map without being insanely closer than whats safe for a large hitbox largely immobile DPS.

Literally in what universe should you EVER play cowboy over Ashe? The answer lies solely in “one has a cripple” for fighting against Doom or Hammond, and even then its not entirely necessary.

Nobody asked for McCree to be turned into a pseudo tank. I want the hero back that can actually contest the most common sightlines in every map again. Will Ashe and Widow always be better than Cree at these ranges? Yes! Thats fine! Im not asking him to be as good as them at range, Im just saying let me do damage to things.

its so disgusting that even on Dorado you just cant be on high ground and ever do anything other than pepper people with tracer bullets, or vice versa youre no longer allowed to contest people who play from this high ground, and it gets no better until final point.

The fact that Team 4 decided “when should Cree start getting hit with damage falloff… hm… Oh yes, Hog hook!” is crazy to me.

A precision based hitscan has the same 100% effective range as roadhogs hook. Why. Why?
