Will there be heroes Blizzard decides is unhealthy for the game and will not be making an appearance in OW2?
Marketing would have a conniption, given the merch, so I think it’s unlikely…
however…
Will heroes be changed/reworked before being introduced to OW2? Will they correct broken designs like Doomfist or Sombra, who can’t be balanced without making them OP or UP? Will Blizzard realize one-shots aren’t fun for anyone? Will they have deep, introspective analysis of the quagmire of cc that OW1 has become? Will training wheels heroes feature prominently?
Do you think any heroes will change (in OW2 PvP) from their original conception? And, if so, who do you want changed?
Lmao I actually want an explanation for this that is not what makes the character special like “sombra can hack me and emp hacks everyone” or “doomfist goes with his melee abilities and destroys me”
Is this saying “plan to make one hero play [in PvE] different to how they play in PvP” or “plan to make one hero play different to how they play, in PvP”?
Of course, this is Blizzard, so while they say one hero, it could easily be more down the line. But, assuming this is true, it helps in making the decision to get OW2 or not. Is it the same balance team?
Which leaves the question as to whether or not some heroes will be left out entirely.
WELL, a lot of heroes are quite bad at PVE right now, and even though Sombra is among them (even though she has hack and emp which are great for PVE and with a talent tree she could be very strong without changing her too much like when you kill a hacked robot it comes back as an ally for x seconds or stuff like that), I feel like Doomfist is pretty bad as well, Widow is very meh (there’s basically nothing in her kit useful for pve except that she can OS but compare that with let’s say Hanzo who can one-shot and has 2 offensive abilities that deals heavy damage :/)
Not so fast. Her hacking abilities could come in real handy against armies of robots. I would think more along the lines of a hero whose abilities work well against humans but not so well against omnics.
It is mildly disappointing that they aren’t taking this opportunity to address what many perceive as huge design errors and balancing snafus. The same mistakes carrying over, the same mistakes being made on new heroes, the same frustration and missed opportunities.
It helps lean me toward the camp of Do Not Buy. For those that do, though, I hope it is everything you want it to be.
They arent going to remove any heroes. And forum whiners already got to ruin Sombra more than enough. If anything its time to revisit the bad unwarranted nerf decisions in the past.
I hardly think it will be Bastion. Now that Bastion is Torbjon’s pet, it means he will be more “OW” than before. This said, if there is no payload, Bastion is pretty useless. Maybe they’re going to give him turret movement or something new, thanks to the OW2 Lore where “Torbjon changed Bastion to make him better”.
