Which hero mains are the worst to talk to about "balancing"

Title

Thought this would be interesting since I know how much people like hero balancing,so who got the ideas

:tea:

Support mains in general, talking about balance in any way is like talking to a rabid raccoon.

This just sounds like a bad idea that’s gonna lead to arguments and tons of trolling.

It’s asking everyone to generalize huge groups of people with the express purpose of insulting them.

Can you believe that McCree mains don’t think their hero is the most oppressive thing in Overwatch? Crazy.

Either Ball players because they somehow managed to mald so much they nerfed perfectly fine CC; or Genji players because they want to break their main by giving him damage buffs and barely ever make any other buff topics, which is why nothing is being done to Genji

Almost everyone suggests ridiculous buffs to their mains, and ridiculous nerfs to their counters.

No name-naming but some flanker mains have an extremely warped view of current Brig and still see her as launch brig from years ago,

it’s like the opposite of rose-tinted glasses

I’m incredibly biased, but I think Sombra mains are pretty chill.

As a whole we’re pretty realistic about what an OP Sombra would do to the game, and typically just want QoL changes over huge buffs, don’t want her EVER to be meta, and would rather they leave her alone over another rework.

Genji or Doom mains, they always want their hero to be God status and everyone else garbage status

This post creates toxicity in the community.

It is not helpful

This post is a really bad idea because it just encourages stereotyping, toxicity, and possibly even name calling. I think a better idea is “which mains are the BEST to talk to about balancing?”

Same reason people don’t make a “which forum user is your least favorite?” post

Not only that, but your question is much more interesting. I actually need to think about it…

I actually disagree. It’s the same reason I have an issue with the constant “Which Forum User Is Your Favorite” type of threads.

It elevates people for largely biased and largely arbitrary reasoning and puts others down when they aren’t mentioned.

People will correlate people not mentioning them to not being liked.

Both types of threads create toxicity, it’s just the ones such as this one are more visible

ball since bad design heros get so much defense since this community likes something that’s fun but don’t admit it’s bad for the game

Well neither is really a good idea, but my suggestion would be the lesser of two evils. One puts others down if they aren’t mentioned, and the other can straight up start fights and pointless drama.

That’s why I never put a straight answer in favorite forum user threads, because there’s like 100+ posters here I like; I don’t wanna forget a few and make them think I dont like them or something

Well, I think it is largely a case to case basis. Some people feel and react to different things in different ways so it is possible for someone that has unresolved personal issues and/or to take their name not being mentioned worse than they would if they were straight up insulted.

Either way, I think both types of threads should never exist. Sure, there might be good intentions, but someone trying to feed a homeless person might give them something they are allergic to without knowing it.

Support. You suggest anything that isn’t gutting a Flanker and you get an army with pitchforks. Mainly brig and a lot of her players thinking she’s trash.

I don’t know for tank/dps. Probably Hitscan players. If you suggest a nerf to one, no matter how much they overperform. They write an essay on how ez it is to counter them when literally numerous flex dps have been trash for years. And cry when compensation buffs don’t overwhelm nerfs despite needing an obvious lowering in power. And call their heroes trash when they aren’t above everything else. (Like Ashe). And then when someone suggests flex dps buffs it’s always “Thur lo skil and dezerv to be bad an only gud some time bEcoz anoyigng to paly agianstt”.

I have no idea for tank tho. Maybe d.va. Ppl think she’s bad right now…

My opinion and experiences don’t attack me ffs.

I have nothing against you.

Mercy mains.
They genuinely think their hero is hard…

I also notice a ton of “what is your least favorite x?”. Even if it’s hero, or ability. The devs just seeing “which of these do you hate most” threads probably doesn’t feel great.

Mercy mains, their are so many of them
