What is the difference between Origins, GOTY and Legendary editions?

Can’t say I know the exact difference, but I think GOTY and Legendary come with stuff for other Blizzard games.
I bought the base game back in early 2017 before they made Origins the “base game” option, and then just bought Origins later. Origins just comes with skins, and Legendary edition, I think, comes with some normal legendary skins one can find in lootboxes, so why pay the extra money to get them outright?
If you’re wondering which option to buy, however, I’d say Origins. You get some really cool, exclusive skins for a cheaper price. The only benefits I see from the other two is if you play other Blizzard games.

I say just get the base version and put the extra money aside for when Overwatch 2 is released unless you want the skins.

GOTY just had like 10 lootboxes, nothing special.
There are legacy skins in goty and legendary that you only get in those versions, that’s really the only difference and the skins aren’t great so just get the cheapest.
Don’t buy any of them, if you must play wait for OW 2 at this point.
Correct me if im wrong, but didn’t they replace all of the previous editions with the latest one, that being the Legendary Edition? Like when GOTY Edition came out, didn’t it replace the Origin Edition, and when the Legendary Edition came out it replaced the GOTY Edition, no? in which case, I don’t think you can even buy any of the previous editions anymore. Unless you were to go on ebay or something like that.
im gonna buy a code. i think ill get legendary edition now. since its the newest.

That’s what I got. It came with five skins - none of which I use.

Look up Origins’ skins – people are still asking for stuff like Widow Noire and I personally like cinematic Bastion more than most. The rest are cool too.
If the edition is cheap online somewhere, I think that may be the best choice. Game of the year comes with the same exclusive skins + some lootboxes you could just earn. Legendary comes with same skins + some other skins you could just earn in game.
Origins Edition: You unlock origins skins.
GOTY Edition: You get 10 loot boxes and Tracer in heroes of the storm.
Legendary Edition: you get 5 epic skins and 5 legendary skins to start.
Generally speaking the legendary edition is the best, because 10 lootboxes are very unlikely to have that much value. All editions get the origins skins btw.
