Which do you prefer, 5v5 or 6v6?

Now that 6v6 tests have been going on for a bit, I wanted to see what the community thinks about this ongoing debate.

Just curious which people are preferring. There has been a lot of debate on which is better. But not a lot of testing to see how it would work in OW2 until now.

I personally prefer the time to kill in 6v6, but I prefer the role que in 5v5

I would like them to test 6v6 role que to see what the que times would be like. I know people have said the que times may be an issue, but how will we know for sure until we test it?

Even with the moronic balancing.

Even with the season 9 changes still being involved for no reason.

6v6 is still just better, because this is what the game was designed around.

TANKS WERE. Not the game.

EDIT: And the old devs never reworked tanks for 5v5, they just buffed them. You can’t have have 1 role with characters being so far apart from each other and think it’s not gonna bring issues and countergame.

Just remember how they went ups and downs with armor to balance the tank role (which would screw or buff all roster ) but several tanks don’t have it at all.

6v6, and it isn’t even close.

I never liked 5v5 and I doubt I ever will. The game is just not designed for it, it doesn’t work and it creates a genuinely miserable experience.

6v6 all the way!

It feels great being able to meaningfully interact with everyone on the enemy team.

6v6 is imo far superior to 5v5

People have always whined about balance this balance that

Was the case with 5v5
Was the case with 6v6
Competitive people crying about balance and ana

Personally, I’m up for 5v5

It’s statistically easier to coordinate with less people in tow, more so when you solo.

And rather not wanna deal with 2 dive tanks anyway.

Yes… the game was 100% designed for 6v6 LMFAO. Because that’s what the game was for 6 years.

I don’t really have a strong preference either way. 6v6 does potentially allow one more person in my friend group to play at the same time, though the times when there’s 6 of us online wanting to play Overwatch together aren’t all that common anyway, sooo…meh :woman_shrugging:
As long as there’s open queue, I’ll be happy either way.

I prefer 5v5 because you have more self agency as tank because you are individually stronger. You don’t need to constantly be having another tank bail out a bad one constantly from double defensive rotations. There is simply less total mitigation in the game because tanks can’t have near perfect rotations on each other with healing in between.

Support feels stronger because it doesnt’ have to play heal all the time since there aren’t two tanks soaking up damage constantly or another big butted target in your face blocking shots.

DPS have more line of sight to fight each other or get to a backline. I just prefer the dynamic of having more options to a fight instead of it almost always being diluted through tanks.

You also have to never suffer the issue of solo support for a team of 5 or a solo tank against 6 enemies trying to kill you.

5v5. It’s a more stable format

6v6 all the way. Superior mode than 5v5 for sure.

I’m indifferent, and have been more-or-less fine with the game under every configuration outside of open queue. I’ll play it either way, but the question is moreso about what the tanks as a whole will play. You don’t get them to prefer 6v6 at an extreme majority, there’s no reason to change back.

I prefer 5v5. I feel like I have less impact in 6v6 and have to heal too much.

I’d rather have the potential to kill 50% of that tank dive in 6v6 than 0% of it in 5v5, personally. For me, being able to meaningfully interact with every player is a deal breaker.

6v6. Being able to boop tanks again is a blessing.

I will always prefer 6v6.

Mainly cause I play flex which 8/10 means i end up playing Tank. 5v5 Tank ain’t ever lived up to 6v6 tank fun.
