While creating the new Sombra rework?

The sombra rework isn’t even that bad, at least now she has to plan out engagements better

Just bring back Sombra from OW1.

Didn’t she have a 5 second ability lockout?

Lets be honest the infinite invisibility was the only thing that has made her insufferable but that was done ages ago (mid Kaplan). Really wish they re-looked at that rather than do yet another rework next time.

I do not even mind the permanent invisibility. But now that she has virus, I would definitely appreciate a bit more skill expression put into maintaining the invisibility. Even if it meant buffing invisibility overall. It’s all about trade offs.

True at least that. The the speed boosted invis was kind of cool (way back when) and let for quick positioning then the bidding your time with infinite invis while being able to ping (since ow2) really made her a nuisance.

I am showing my Overwatch age (played since ow1 beta days)

I am remembering way back in lunar colony some competitive tactics making use of sombras extra speed while invis. I think they removed it because it broke pro play. Then again full invis has broken pro play multiple times since also.

This actually really intrigues me as a concept: invisibility as a reward. Any ideas you have to implement this? Maybe put in is on a timer / cooldown but getting kills resets the cooldown? (Like genji dash)

She’s RUINED casual modes for me. Her pickrate just to annoy is at the highest its ever been. Win or lose, OP or not, I’m done with her.

Get a kill, hit your virus, hack a health pack, play a lockpick mini game mid fight (jk)?

Loll

“Guys just wait I almost have it!”

She is arguably the best designed hero in the entire dps role right now. The only thing I would even consider nerfing is emp

Love how it was a “rework” but she still has the exact same extremely frustrating pain points that everyone has complained about since her inception. “Alright guys, great work, let’s celebrate wit some br. milk”

I don’t feel like emp is that good right now. It’s nice to cancel ults and whatnot, but it only is really relevant when combo’d with grav or other ults

I genuinely don’t know how she’s still allowed to stay like this in the game. The lobbies are so much more enjoyable when no one picks her.

3 second lockout is nutty ngl

Im in the boat that think her neutral kit is mediocre af but EMP is overpowered lol

it is a “meh” rework to me, similar to bastion rework.
She is less obnoxious than before but perma stealth is what they should have fixed.

Oh god no. As annoying as current Sombra is, ow1 Sombra was much worse.

Honestly the infinite invis doesn’t bother me- at least not in regards to playing against her (with her though? More in a moment on that though)

Being able to hack from invis though, I think was the mistake.

“But it can be canceled by 1 point of damage” sure- but you have a fraction of a second to find the invisible hero with no limitations on time/angle they can attempt to hack you from, that will likely be attempting to use the ability when you’re distracted / locked into something.

Even in team environments, as long as sombra isn’t trying to hack someone actively shooting her, landing hack is not much of a issue (and while I’m anything but a sombra main, she’s one of my more played dps when I’m not playing tank).

My only complaint about permanent invis itself though really is the playstyle it often encourages. So many players just sit on sombra while invis and do jack squat just “waiting” for that perfect moment to do something which may or may never come.

The match often feels like a 4v5 - and it’s rough.

Of course this isn’t a fault of sombras herself, and this is absolutely on the players playing her wrong the majority of the time- but it’s still common enough that I find it frustrating.
