Which 3 DPS heroes should I learn?

So before role Q I was always a flex player. But since role Q was implemented I have played almost exclusively tank and support. I’m thinking now that priority passes are a thing I might focus on really learning 3 dps heroes.

So pretending that I know nothing about the game, which 3 heroes would you recommend mastering? I’m looking for the best bang for my buck across all ranks from gold to gm.

Thanks!

Tracer, Echo, and Ashe

All really strong, and you get a flanker, a sniper, and an all-around hero.

With those 3 you’re covered in pretty much any situation.

Just pick any of the golden children.

Mccree, Ashe, Widow, Soldier.

I have a 450 hour Sombra account. If I only knew then.

Tracer, widow, ashe, and echo

500+ hours on Genji across platforms.

If only I knew his destiny was to be a nanobot slave.

My main 3 are Doomfist, Genji and Hanzo

Only Hanzo is good right now :frowning:

Mccree and soldier were left in the trash for the longest time(Cree first half of the game, soldier was the second.)

Wouldn’t say the trash.

The early era of the game was when pretty much anything could work even in the upper tiers.

We had people like Pine, IDDQD and other people on mccree completely rolling, he had potential, just high noon was garbage.

With Soldier he was pretty garbage until 20 damage per bullet, then became meta, then got nerfed.

right now: echo, torbjorn and the third is probably sombra situationally, but at this moment echo and torb are possibly the 2 strongest heroes in the dps roster

The question is what did you play on tanks, because Zarya tracking translates really well onto Tracer.

Widowmaker,Ashe,Tracer.

The easiest to climb with while also being the hardest.

All you need to learn is Zen.
Cause…tranquility.

…also Hanzo.

Though why learn Widow if you already learned Ashe?

They basically do the same thing.

Plus their skill is transferrable, if you can aim with Ashe, you can aim with Widow.

You’re better off learning someone else while learning one of them.

I played all the tanks fairly well, I have a decent Zarya game – but Rein is by far my most played followed by Hog and then Ball.

I think I will focus on learning Tracer like you suggest, and then probably Echo since she (they) seem to be doing really well right now.

good advice, thank you.

I have no clue what I am doing on Sombra so no worries there. I will probably choose Ashe out of these, they seem really well rounded.

Bastion
Echo
Tracer

These are also what i play

I see Tracer and Echo but Bastion? Why Bast? Personal preference or do you have any tips or tricks to share?

Honestly, id recommend

1 flex dps, 1 hitscan, 1 flanker

pick your prefered out of the three

or you can do like me and pick whathever characters you like to play and call it a day…

my 3 dps characters would be Pharah, Bastion and Symmetra. with my main beeing bastion

i used to play torb but i dont like his rework

This is mostly what I do, because video game should = fun tbh. But I have kind of a clean slate (since I never play dps) so I am curious what other people recommend.

I have seen good Pharahs but it seems like they are too reliant on the mercy to tag along. Not always great for the solo Q experience.

Bastion and Symm though. Interesting. I haven’t played Sym much since her version 1 days and Bastion just seems to be bad news in most games. Torb is really effective on certain maps I have noticed.

I want to be able to flex a bit so I am going to start working on 3 heroes but eventually I’d like to learn the whole roster. Thanks for your input

Tips for playing Bastion
Be mobile
Do not stay in one position for too long
Try to be sneaky and flank
Watch Bastionmain whenever possible
Dont be afraid of asking for a pocket
Have fun <-- this one is important

Bastion can work, even without a pocket or any shields at all

but he requires a player that REALLY knows how to play him, i have nearly 100 hours on him and im able to make him work decently well

Just make sure they’re hitscan heroes so you can fit into any team comp and be safe from major nerfs and be easier to play than projectile heroes
