Do anybody remember the blizzard diversity chart where they gave “points” depending on if a character was white or not, male or not, spoke a different language etc. where would venture be placed on the chart?
So we have:
ethnic ~ Mexican/Canadian (wtf didn’t even know that was much of a thing but alright)
they/them
body type ~ (not really sure she wears pretty huge clothes.)
socioeconomic background ~ probably not that well off
culture ~ ???
sexual orientation ~ most likely bi
age ~ 26
I think she would rank pretty high i’m sure the chart makers are pretty happy with the results
They clearly ticked a lot of boxes with her and just threw her into the game. No epics, no legendary skins and not a skin in the current BP. Venture is clearly not here to make money and rather to please a certain kind of people.
Shame, because with skins and a better game model, I am sure Venture would have a ton of potential.
Normal. They are not of type Mei and rather like Brig. Just the clothing makes them look like a brick.
I’m not sure which of those points Venture fulfills as I forget what was on that original chart posted months ago, but I too feel like she was clearly designed with the idea of ticking the right agenda boxes first and foremost to make a particular group of vocal Twitter users happy—even if they don’t play the game.
Also now that I’ve returned and finally played a bit a Mauga? He’s like TF2’s Heavy + Rein hybrid. Feels like little thought was placed into him, and it takes just as little thought playing him. Literally hold left or right mouse button and aim in the right general direction, usually after charging.
What is going on with these newest character designs?? They all feel so uninspired and bland.
ah i forgot. she has all 4 of her limbs and doesn’t have any form of “enhancements” in the way of robotic arms/eyes/legs so thats minus some points tsk tsk tsk.
Maybe an unpopular opinion to me Canadian isn’t diverse. Mexican kind of. Also following your dreams over making money at least in America isn’t diverse either. Non binary is massive points. But all and all we can’t see a body type so I’d say pretty low on the list. Maybe mid tier.
Look in a conversation about diversity. Mind you I assume we’re discussing this with an American standard because what other nation has a citizen that would do this in the first place. Canadian. Is low on a list when we have sentient robots from the mountains of Nepal living as a monk.
