should i use one of the two buildings available? or just go around the sides on the ground and look for a pick?
Wherever the rest of your team isn’t. If the team is pushing through choke and top left high ground has been secured already (or just given up), that side is pretty good. There’s a mega back there that’s pretty easy to escape to if things get hairy. As the team pushes up, you can take more and more aggressive angles.
thanks, so is going up on top of the buildings early too dangerous? i feel like it reveals where I am, but it has a really good view. There is the yellow building on the right as you come around, and then another building on the far back right near the mega that sees a lot
Oh wait, are we talking about really early point A? Like right out of the gates? In that case, you should probably go for a jump shot off of red building to see if you can land an early pick. If you know they have a Widow of their own or might have one, ask your D.Va to peel for you during the jump. There really isn’t a whole lot of space to take for you to have a good position, and most defenses give up that area anyway.
interesting. thanks for all the info. I just want my attack to be a bit better. I feel like I tend to go to yellow building early most of the time, but I’m not sure if I’m in too much danger being up there… genji/winston might dive me
but i think maybe a lot of my problem is sometimes they contest really early point A and I feel like I don’t have an angle from the top of the building down onto them
Yeah, yellow isn’t going to give you any better sights than just being by the cart behind shields or cover. No one typically does much on that phase of point A anyway, so don’t worry about it.
one other question. on blizzard A defense. Is there any reason to defend on the high ground with orisa? it seems like they are just going to either push in right side or left side with shields and you won’t have an angle outside of a grapple shot. I personally play very far back right of point that has vision as they walk up but is a lot safer. Not sure if that’s good or not. I honestly feel like the best thing to do as widow on defense there is to spread out because you need people to have to deal with multiple threats in different positions for you to get angles past the shields
There’s no hard rule to any of this. Try different positions and scope out the situation. Play enough and your brain will recognize patterns and develop game sense.
