sooo you won’t play a hero because there a male hmmm
The male characters outside of the comedic relief ones (Lucio, Cree, Winston etc) all lack any real personality. They’re very cookie cutter and cliche hero types and Soldier is by far the worst one. There’s just nothing to him outside of being a soldier, there’s no defining trait, no heroic flaw, he’s just a soldier and that’s boring.
I get that this game values mechanics over story but seriously, I don’t play Overwatch to listen to generic CoD voice lines and callouts.
Brigitte is by far the most normal character and the easiest to relate to.
Soldier just feels blank to me.
So let me get this straight. You want another easy hero, that requires aim, but is still easy to get into if you haven’t played fps before - and all the heroes that doesn’t require aim isn’t sufficient enough for you. And the litteral aimbot slapped onto 76 isn’t enough for you? Can you hear yourself?
Well if you read the post and the thread, it’s more about accessibility than being just straight up ‘easy’.
‘Easy to learn, difficult to master’ is something I think in general the game needs more of. There are those with low skill ceilings, and those with high skill floors, but they seem to be pretty squarely split in exactly that way.
Soldier is actually a really good example of a very easy to pick up hero with a pretty decent skill ceiling to get the most out of him. Meanwhile, Pharah has a low skill ceiling enforced more by how easy she is to counter than how easy she is to play; but the rest of the female DPS cast are actually ‘hard’ heroes, like Tracer, Sombra, Widowmaker.
Why do you have to start personal attacks? For me personally Widow, Sombra and Tracer are not too hard heroes to play. But for people only getting into the genre, the only FPS noob friendly hero is Soldier. No-aim heroes are not FPS heroes but only MOBA ersatz heroes.
When I was introducing a friend to Overwatch, who had no prior FPS experience, the only suitable hero was Soldier. But guess what, he was intsa-locked in QP 80% of the time.
What’s wrong with having more basic entry-level heroes that not defy FPS mechanics?
The problem is that said hero is hard to design. 76 is literally a FPS character with completely FPS mechanisms. How can you design ANOTHER FPS character who differs from 76 but is still easy for FPS players?
So in the end this is just all about gender. Go find some other game to ruin.
People play relatable heroes, that’s not a new thing. I mean, we have Orisa and Reinhardt filling similar game space, and people have been asking for new male support heroes since beta.
You doesn’t refer to you as a person. It refers to the whiners in general. Get off your high horse, you’re not that special
I guess it’s time to stop playing qp. Or time to face the fact the others are allowed to convert from one game to another. I’m sry we can’t have 6 high dps heroes that doesn’t require aim
Literally asking for one that does…
So you don’t count his BBQ skin as a personality trait?
Litterally saying we can’t have that. And it sounds like you don’t understand why.
Can anyone guess why we can’t have 6 high dps heroes that doesn’t require aim in a shooter? I wonder? Hmm? Can anyone tell me? It seems perfectly fair that there shouldn’t be a correlation between high damage and aim doesn’t it? Gee if someone only could explain the downsides with high damage, and no aim requirement.
I meant we are asking for a female hitscan DPS that therefore requires aim, but otherwise has a rounded and accessible kit, like 76.
So again, it is only about the gender. And like I said before, please go ruin someone else’s game with your feministic views
Again, people ask for male support heroes every day since beta.
Why do you hate women?
So because I don’t want gender to be the only deciding factor when creating new heroes I hate women? Have you seen that meme where feminists twists the news reporter’s words? I’d say you match that perfectly.
That’s the thing that’s what makes him interesting. He’s just a man on a mission an old soldier. He’s not a comedic relief yet he isn’t a wet blanket. His genericness is actually what makes him unique at least to me.
Twisting? You were ranting about feminists wanting a no-aim DPS which was nothing to do with the thread. You couldn’t even be bothered to read what was asked for. That is where I got the impression that you hate women.
There’s pretty much infinite design space for new heroes, and this happens to be something that resonates with me and want to see such a hero being bumped up the queue.
There’s the slight trigger I was looking for. I have the same problem. Only with loads of sarcasm added in, prob sours most opinions I share on here but some people get serious about a video game debate… on the internet.
