I remember in December 2023 when they announced the Reaper’s rework to modernize his kit with a new ability or something. Last time they mentioned it was in May 2024 and they were reportedly reworking Shadow Step. Nothing since. I’m starting to believe it’s been cancelled although I was curious to know more about his rework.

I’m guessing they’ve deprioritised it because he’s been pretty good lately.

They planned to rework him because reaper was really bad during that time. However, reaper has been pretty good recently so they don’t have the incentive anymore.
He’s only good because he has 300Hp which is basically a mini tank. He also self-heals with all his damage. Without the HP, he wouldn’t be good. I think the “rework” was the HP increase
The HP increase was part of a global hero patch, so that can’t really be what was meant. Besides, an HP increase isn’t a rework—it’s simply a buff.
Right now, I wouldn’t count on reworks, though, since Blizzard apparently doesn’t seem to know how to do them properly!
You guys aren’t wrong. Well I was curious to see something new on Reaper’s kit even if he’s good or bad.
Reaper doesn’t need a rework, probably just numbers adjusted. His Shadow Step needs adjusting (kinda like they offered in Junkenstein’s Lab), and maybe a slight falloff range buff on his guns (or a buff on/after Wraith) and he’s fine.

They would never cancel/scrap something they announced they were working on and told us we would get, how could you even suggest such a thing?
