I’ve seen this statement far too frequently in recent days that I’m starting to really worry if people think this is true
“Statistically the game is in the most balanced state ever”
Okay actually what the actual fork. Just hold on one teensy weensy second here. If you aren’t trolling when you say this, I’m legitimately concerned.

Symmetra sucks for the 4th time after the 3rd rework
Roadhog sucks
Reaper still sucks after 2 years of shadowstep
Heroes who are supposed to have decent pickrates, like 76, currently enjoy one of the lowest pickrates ever
Almost the entire dps class sucks, which kinda explains why GOATS is a thing and people would rather have 3 supports than 1 dps
Realistically, everything that sucks about the game and the heroes is still here, assuming we ignore new problems like Brigitte.
So what has changed that made so many people suddenly go off their rocker and preach “the game has never been more balanced lmao!”?
Ya played quickplay recently? Im having a blast since you can play kinda everything providet the map/Team allows it.
I dont care about comp that much. Let em have their meta they forced on themself.

Sure, there are minor differences in some heros powers… But nothing thats borderline broken.
Where is this claim that GOATs is popular coming from, I don’t get it. Maybe ya’ll play on masters level and its only me being only plat, but I frankly only once had this composition in a ranked play. In fact, times when you have 3 or 4 dps, no one willing to take a main heal or tank happens quite more often…
All of these heroes have always sucked, except for Roadhog who has almost always sucked. Don’t confuse “the best it’s ever been” with “perfect”.
As for why people say that, it’s because all of the tanks (aside from Roadhog and to a lesser extent Orisa) see frequent play, instead of one tank dominating over everyone else. All of the supports see frequent play, with the lowest disparity we’ve ever seen in the game. As for DPS, all of them will never see frequent play because there’s too many, but we have a healthy dose of mid-range hitscan (McCree), snipers (Widowmaker), and flankers (Genji/Tracer) all seeing high pickrates. That’s not something we’ve historically had.
All supports except Mercy are good(and this is debatable), all tanks except hog are good, DF, Sombra, Genji, Tracer, Widow, and Hanzo are good. This is 2~3x the number of good characters in most metas. And dive and deathball are both viable. We haven’t seen that since S4, though S4 was strategically a lot more diverse than goats and goats counters.
Not exactly by percentage wise though. We “might” have similar numbers of balanced heroes, but the total number of heroes have increased quite significantly. Never mind the fact that the new “balanced” heroes have, at the same time, displaced the previous balanced heroes, demonstrating a power creep or poor balancing at the very least
This, in particular, is what has me annoyed. I really dislike having fights last too long, and that’s what we get a lot of now.
It’s not a “Lul Salty DPS main” thing either. I can play other heroes. I quite enjoy Zarya and Moira, etc. But just … yeah, I don’t like having fights drag on and on and on, and that’s what you get with GOATS and similar comps.
Because there are a lot of support players, and not having to play mercy is pretty fun for some people.
And you can still play her.
Mercy isnt that bad, just niche, and works well with pharah and widow. Also I feel like half of the dps cast would suddenly become viable if briggites armour was changed/toned down.
