Where did Mercy come from? (Cinematic)

In the new cinematic she just…like…floated down from the sky. There wasn’t even a ship she came down from.

where did she come from?..where did she go? Where’d she come from…Cotton Eyed Joe?

She’s an angel. So from the Heaven.

If that’s the case, then Mei should’ve risen out of ground.

(None of it makes sense btw I know, just having fun)

Her Valkyrie armour is known to have the capability of flight so it’s reasonable she came from above.

Why (and how) she decided to part the heavens in a radiant aura is beyond me though.

Knowing Mercy, she probably climbed a building and waited for the most perfect moment to appear, as a narcissistic cosplay addict she is.

Well so I think there’s a difference between in-game mechanics and gameplay compared to the lore.

For example, in-game, Pharah can fly in long jumps in the game, combined with some boosted jet bursts.
In the original teaser however, the disheartened soldiers saw her flying with in a straight line between the clouds with ease.

I think Mercy’s the same. In the game she can’t fly freely, she either flies in a direct line to a teammate or floats - But in the lore, the Valkyrie suit can actually, well, fly.
So I think she flew to Paris in her suit and then descended into the battle.

Or else, there’s another drop ship and she jumped out of that but I think that’s unlikely.

This is exactly what she invented her suit for - To be able to fly into the thick of a battle or a disaster and provide immediate medical assistance.

One could even speculate that with a little boost to its thrusters and a little exoskeleton-fashioned mechanical assistance, the suit could let her even provide pararescue.

She thinks shes the bees knees obviously :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Unpopular opinion, but I’ve never been a fan of the idea of Mercy being some kind of Heavenly Goddess angel being. Her entire design is put together around that.

She is my bees knees

the gates of heaven.

I just imagine her jumping out and using her angelic descend right away, as slowly as possible, for the most dramatic entrance while her team is slowly just dying.

Obvious science fiction mumbo-jumbo answer to the glowing aura:

What if those were the thrusters of her suit? It lights up when it provides thrust. Maybe she was traveling at a higher speed and it was the thrusters working at hivh capacity for a braking maneuveur.
She then dropped and only used thrusters again before she touched the ground.

Or maybe even her wings? As they tend to glow. (They aren’t the thrusters are they?)

Her wings conveniently look holy. While she wears a halo headpiece. Amazing.

Imagine if they added an ability to Mercy in OW2 where she can just smack people with her caduceus staff to heal them. Lmao

puts a meaning to the phrase burst healing

Yes, it is.
You like it or you don’t like it. I like it. And I’m just enjoying the fact that our girl got a little screen time.
Her design was obviously made in a way so that she could have wings.
That’s because they’re cool. Exactly the same reason why an intelligent gorilla wields an electric cannon. Or why an American superhero icon carries a round shield in Marvel, for that matter.
Overwatch is like a superhero story. It’s all part of the narrative. I mean we can question that but do wing-shaped thrusters make less sense than a British airforce pilot zig-zahmgging through space without any problems of tge time part of spacetime and the traveling speed of information?
