Where are all the main tanks?

Of the four games I’ve played today on my PC account, none of them have had a main tank on both sides.

Appearently Hog/Zarya/Hammond/DVa are very popular in Gold

I play mostly Orisa.

But some people REALLY don’t want an Orisa.

I’m a main tank, but it’s really getting me annoyed that i can’t play the tank i want, its always:
Rein MUST PICK Zarya
Orisa MUST PICK HOG
ANd the dive trio MUST HAVE Winston, because SHIELD.

I’ve tried to play Rein, I really have but I’m just no good at him. I’m an unbelievably bad Winston, and playing Orisa makes me want to jump into traffic.

Even as far as off-tanks go, I only really like playing Zarya. (my Hammond has been referred to as ‘drunk hamster’)

On PC especially, I’m a support main, so I feel a lot of pain in not having a main tank. It’s always so frustrating to know the team needs healing, but knowing that without a shield, I’m going to have a bad time.

I’m sure that’ll change once more heroes get introduced. They said more tank heroes are in the works.

So far we’ve only got the Dive combo, Deathball combo, and Bunker combo. Now it’ll prooably just be expanded upon from here on out.

Unless the lay the groundwork for an areal tank combo.

That sounds ominous, is it a bad time to do my placements right now? I’m usually on Orisa and last i checked, i was in gold after i did my placements last season.

I played 3 games before I went to the gym. The teams that won, had valid comps with tanks. The last game was especially hilarious, as it was 0-1-5 and man those DPS thought they were good, till I smashed them over and over with a hammer.

I played 4 games in diamond yesterday and there was no main tanks at all on both sides. one game, my team had 5 dps and just rolled the other team.

peeps want main tanks but then the 2 dps each go on separate flanks and often one or both healers go with them. want main tanks, play with them. have a winston, pick a dps that can dive with him. have a rein/orisa, back them up.

I had to main tank myself cause no one else wanted to do it. And of course, my luck was that the other team had a dedicated main tank player. Soooooo fun…

Hammond is a main tank. Barrier =/= main tank.

Not on attack at least unless I literally want our team to push about 5 meters every time her shield is off cd. Only comp that sort of works with Orisa until it’s countered is pirateship on attack but that’s payload only.

5 metres? If we take first point on King’s Row, I try to push the enemy all the way back to 3rd point as soon as we start streets phase.

If a new barrier placement in a push is less than Lúcio’s radius, it’s probably not worth it.

As you’ve just proven, some people REALLY don’t trust an Orisa can be played outside of cheese comps.

You also forget her best maps (Ilios and Nepal) are Attack only maps.
