Here’s a solution blizzard if you want people to actually bother touching max’s vault, make it use free credits and not coins. Why bother buying the skins in the vault when you can get them either from the gallery for free or lootboxes for free?

The loot pool is obscene. You are not particularly likely to get the legendary skin you want and they rarely add the skins to the shop rotation as far as I can tell. It technically serves a purpose for newer players. It’s not supposed to be for people who know what they are doing unless you get lucky with the discount rng.

Because shop skins are discounted and your chances of getting a skin you actually want from the lootboxes are miniscule. The lootboxes are even worse if you weren’t a long-time OW1 player.

If they are majority of ow2 skins, you cannot get them for free in the gallery. And lootboxes is just dumb luck. There are many more legendary skins added each season than we get from lootboxes. So your chances of getting the one you want gets lower and lower as time goes on.
While I’m not a fan of the vault so far, at worst it just isn’t useful, at best a shop skin you want shows up for a discount.
