When You are Not Good

I realized that overwatch is becoming boring and frustrating, when you are terrible at the game. My aim is not good at all. I can’t keep people alive as a healer nor can I tank.

It’s just keeps getting increasingly frustrating. I might try an MMO and see how that goes.

Anyone else who is terrible at the game feel the same.

It is indeed shocking when a game you’re not good at is not fun. Maybe if you buy more from the store matchmaker gymnastics will carry you again.

MMOs have high skill floors

Trust me it’s frustrating for your teammates too when you’re bad.

I am having a lot of fun; however, I am bad in a relatively contained way. My games are easy as hell. I can flawless a large portion of them. I regularly get 3-5 kill teamfights. Barely anyone can handle me in a 1v1 duel. I just suck at winning the game. It has been somewhat aggravating, but the gameplay itself is alright when your team decides to do something outside of just standing there.

I literally have been playing WoW SOD and it’s definitely a nice change of pace. Overwatch has low lows, and decent highs. Working with players and maxing your DPS is much more enjoyable than riding the emotional roller coaster of OW lmao. SOD is fun btw if you wanna check it out, new content coming out soon.

I wouldnt raid. So there is that

The average Overwatch player before they discover the joy of Mei/Moira

you can always go for rein, torb and lucio, or if you’re having one of those days where your hand just doesn’t want to go as fast as your eye, go for a farm sim, or something more wholesome like gris

I’m also bad at the game, peaked at high silver skill level and will never get better.
Getting better requires better aim and my brain and body aren’t capable of that.

I’ve even tried custom games where people do 6v6 or other things and they’re always Diamond+, up to Grandmaster, and I don’t end up having fun at all because I’m the worst one there.

You’re right, it’s not fun.

I feel the same to a certain extent.

I have sensory issues which mean I deal with ‘in-built ping’. Out of game I walk into stuff and trip over thin air. In game My reaction times are garbage and I walk into walls/off cliffs that everyone can see from space.

It does not matter how great my PC/internet is, how often I aim train: it will never get better.

My joy comes, not from my aim, but finding other skills to work on. Game awareness, ult tracking, positioning, cooldown management. Especially on days when it’s really bad. But on super bad days I don’t even play, I do other things.

I’ve played wow since the burning crusade expansion. I’ve raided, done rated pvp, arenas, joined guilds, the lot. But even if you don’t do endgame stuff there’s always a lot to do. MMO’s, even established ones, can be a nice change of pace to an FPS.

Not at all. MMOs are easy as hell. Especially when you can boost your numbers to win.

I mean i feel like most play at the causal level doesn’t reach the game’s “potential” fun. You support and boost DPS that don’t aim. Tanks constantly take damage to the point of you being able to do little else but spam heals. People talk about healers dealing damage. I wish I had the time!

As a tank, no one goes in with you, follows you, uses your created space or takes advantage of your CC. Nobody pays attention to comp or anything. You don’t have “rush” and “dive” and no one looks at hero synergy. It’s just people pick whatever.

It’s like playing an mmo and solo leveling to max then quitting vs joining a guild and playing with others and doing endgame content. You don’t really get to any meaty gameplay or any reason to utilize a lot of what the game has to offer. I hate it sometimes.

Don’t feel bad, it’s frustrating by design.

I can make any balance patch work, but fun is definitely not there.

That’s why singleplayer games will always be superior.

The game is simply terrible and I totally agree with this post , I’ve only ever been bronze

My aim totally effects whether I’m having fun or not. Can’t land any shots? It’s incredibly frustrating. Landing lots of shots? It’s amazing.

Is not about been good or bad at a game, but what players take as fair

Fall guys for example, its the only game where you can have fun, win, lose, or spectate.
I’ve never seen such success on every aspect of the users experience.
But mostly, it is thanks to everyone understanding the rules.
And they all apply the same for all players.

Take Warzone now. A game so broken and laughable that it can only come from Bobby Kotick’s a damaged brain.
A game were you can strat and engage an absolute moron running in middle of the open without a single cover 100m around, throw a stun granade to his teeth, sprint all the way to his side, 90º, and all of the sudden hear a bunch of shots straight to your head.
And when you watch the killcam, the guy has his screen, flat white, slowly coming out towards all shaky and controllable within the next 5 seconds, but with his weapon aiming at you, twisted all to the side; like if it was inspecting a skin.
So it is not only that activating aim assist turns a blatant moron with a drifting ps4 controller into the #1 FPS champ of the world, but if it also happens to be under any lose of control effect, it just gives him the best aimbot you can purchase for 50dls a month.

I left that sewer for good, and I got all time buddies asking me to come back.
Just for one game, they say. lol
Some even hop and play Overwatch for a few games just to lure me into those black waters again xD
And I actually installed Warzone 2 when it first came out.
That of course, until I realize that everything you bought from the shop, is now gone.
Buy again, Bobby would say.
Biggest cash grab ever, and for some reason no one ever said a word from it.
Well Bobby, I am happy you got your paycheck and get the bloody f out from the company.
Still ain’t coming back to that s show

Now Overwatch has a complete different problem because of so many different playing styles to choose that represent every character on the roster.
And of course, everyone thinks they are good; regardless of how bad they perform, or how little understanding they have on any character.
Its the reason why so many lurke the forums crying for every hero or mechanic they have no clue how to deal with, but will only think of their own picks as those that trully require skill.

Like hitscans require no skill, projectiles require no skill, mobility requires no skill
lol?

I really wish more people tried to understand the game they are playing

But I don’t think that is happening any soon in the future

Specially with social media acting as an echo chamber

And to be fair, I could uninstall Overwatch for how bad the matchmaking can be.
But it also happens that the rest of the games are no better.

I got friends that uninstalled, wen’t to play CSGO, and after the release of CS2, they are all crying about how bad the matchmaking is performing.

Well, from what I’ve seen, the matchmaking is still the same xD

Go check Valorant, Fortnite, Apex or League if you think otherwise
