When will the matchmaking finally get balanced?

Morgan has developed the stupidest mm in pvp history. He would be proud of it.

It wont the devs clearly dont care they just want money

Check your total wins and total loses for each season… you will see that the match making really maintains close to 50/50 ratio.

I checked mine yesterday and it blew my mind. Max variation was 47%/53%.

That isn’t the match making doing that btw. That’s just a natural outcome of predominantly balanced games and you being in the right MMR range.

But it is totally understandable why some might think something funky is going on. It’s easier to grasp that.

not true. The only way someone could maintain close to 50/50 ratio if it were being manipulated by MM. Else, there could be larger variations; like 30/70 or 40/60. Especially given the fact that in many games, one or more players throw, its not possible to maintain close to 50/50 through several seasons.

Separately, OW is not known for "balanced games;. That’s the consensus on these forums that mostly either you are rolling or getting rolled.

I know you won’t accept it coz you are probably paid by OW to be a troll on these forums but consider this, 1. matches are not balanced (rolling or getting rolled); 2. players are throwing or quitting mid games; and 3. even then each season the win/loss ratio is close to 50/50. That just means that MM is deliberately maintaining close to 50/50.

probably so that players be invested in game bcoz they want to rank up again.

Ahhh there you go with your personal attacks. Dude, why are you so toxic!

Anyway, I don’t want to argue with someone who is getting paid by OW. So, byeeeeee.

As I said, I can totally understand why someone would think that. It’s much easier to digest.

But that’s never been an actual thing.

The only time you’ll have a win rate (if you’re a regular player) far exceeding the magic 50% mark in either direction is through directly player manipulation (deranking, boosting, cheating) or massive change in skill level.

With the later, once you hit that new level, you’ll settle back to around the 50% mark naturally.

It’s a fairly common outcome with SBMM. You’ll notice if you play any hero enough, you’ll get back to that point in time.

Don’t then. Have a discussion with someone who disagrees, maybe we’ll both learn something.

Accusing people of “trolling” just because they have a different view to you is a bit silly, because by that logic you’re also trolling because you disagree with me.

Neither is true. We just have a different view.

Blizzard need to cut costs… Doubt they’ll pay randoms with no social media following to disagree with people on a forum they don’t care about.

I agree. This is often spoken about. People tend to miss the biggest issues that can cause such things. It’s rarely ever match making (not to say it can’t be, but it’s highly unlikely)

Well well, how the turntables.

As long as you’re able to make/buy accounts and misrepresent your rank MM will never be able to do it’s job.

To a point this is true. Which is why it’s not perfect. It never will be, it’s basically impossible.

But it’s not forcing things, and if you’re playing normally (like most players do) MMR will be relatively accurate.

Anecdotally speaking. New account, within 10 games I was playing players I recognised while levelling up. And all I did was just play normally. Now I’ve placed it, it’s in exactly the same divisions as most my other accounts. So MMR does work.

If you have 60% winrate you are climbing up. If you have a 40% winrate you are ranking down.

Thus, it is completely natural that people end up close to 50% winrate when they are at their own skill level.

What varies is the rank at where people hit the close to 50% winrate. More skilled players hit 50% winrate at higher ranks than less skilled players.

And of course things like the amount of games played should be taken into consideration etc.

imho Overwatch would benefit from showing people their long-time average ratings etc. instead of just the current and peak rank.

Just be aware of it.
