When people refuse to play dive on Gibraltar

I die a little inside. I swear to GOD. there are several levels of high ground that have enemies spamming shots at you and you are playing Reaper hog. How does it not bother you that you are being shot by people you cannot reach.

This is being more of a play ego issue now, if they aren’t handed wins on a silver plater they bail. That’s why play vs AI, if someone disconnect or has a hissy fit and leaves we can still over power the AI.

Gigachad 1 tricks that would rather play their main than fold like a deck of cards to become a meta slave.

It sucks that there aren’t any tanks with verticality that I seriously enjoy playing. Sucks for the rest of the team too, really. Better luck next time, guys.

I’d rather you play something you enjoy, even if it’s suboptimal.

Yes. This map, dive is better. But with zero coordination, dive is pretty garbage anyways.

Why play a hero thats good in a map when they can play a hero that makes the game harder for their team mates!

My favorite part is your tank picking Rein on Gibraltar defense, positions low ground and the rest of his team is positioned high ground so when the match starts he literally gets melted in less than a second then blames the team  Or he will position high ground but literally cannot do anything so he just sits there and holds his shield in an “well this is awkward” kinda stance

Later on he will charge into the whole enemy 1v5 don’t you worry.

Same thing happens with Numbani attack. The whole enemy team is high ground and you have a Rammatra running it down mid every single time. Does not matter that he died 5 times doing the exact same thing over and over again, the 6th time is the charm. And when you ask them to go dive or go high ground their reply always is “I am having fun”, lmao. I did not know getting sh* on and dying 5 times in a row for doing the exact same thing over and over again but you do you fam.

Numbani is worse. Brawl tank that never goes left to take high ground on attack makes me want to CRY. It might be the most important high ground to challenge in the entire game, but so many of my QP teammates are just like “Nah, let’s leave 'em up there while we die!”

Similar problem on Havana. You know, for a fact, that it’s SniperTown USA, but you won’t pick a shield or mobility hero. Then you’ll cry for four minutes while your supports are dead and you can’t ever threaten the widow. To be fair, this one is more of a DPS problem. (Seriously people, I know you all hate her, but somebody just pick Sombra on this map until the sniper leaves/changes hero pick.)

But the same can be said for having no hitscans on Pharah maps, or trying to force Reaper on Push maps. Those long sight lines don’t give you any ideas, player? No? Sometimes you just gotta try and make the best of what you’ve got.

I love Rein players, tbh.

Maybe the charge will fail, but I’ll do my best to help him.

None? So I guess you don’t like dva or Winston. What about ball? Or doom?

It’s honestly a map design issue.

As big of a problem that those people are that refuse to play dive, it’s just not good to give defenders not only, defenders advantage in the first place but also MULTIPLE high ground locations to just plant themselves on. And then the high grounds themselves have almost NO real way to get up there outside of 1 or 2 blatantly obvious stairs that are borderline choke points themselves.

Dorado has this same issue. Numbani has this same issue. It’s just poorly constructed, but still better than havana and circuit royale.

I enjoy Doom and Ball even less than I do D.Va, who I enjoy less than Winston.

I enjoy the hero fantasy of protecting others, and doing that indirectly through displacement and the like doesn’t satisfy me. I played a whole bunch of Orisa back in OW1 but dropped her like a bad habit the second she lost her barrier. I like Zarya, Ram, and Sigma because they directly protect teammates. Winston can be that way with his bubble but only if anyone comes with me, which they won’t because they have sense. D.Va, eh, not really.

I don’t play tank in order to beat up grandmas and charity workers.

Could of sworn you were a junkrat main.

Rein buddy new to game barely even knows what all the buttons do but she’s still managing to charge into enemies on crit like clockwork. I think it’s hardcoded into the hero tbh.

thats wierd to read for me.
I see d.va as like THE peel hero to help my teammates.
(But thats probably because I don’t consider anything that can’t reach ashe/widow in highground, able to protect my team at all.)

zarya for me is more like junkerqueen, in german “brechstangen tank” so I can plow my way through a beefy frontline. So I can basically break through the door that is the enemy tank and frontline. more for the dmg than the protection with bubble.

I feel that E bubble is pretty great for peeling, plus having a death laser that is effective up to mid-range to threaten normally harder-to-hit characters. Obviously that’s not the play all the time. There are unfortunate games where ya just gotta burn all those bubbles on yourself constantly. (Thanks, Mauga.) Sucks but that’s how it goes sometimes.

I imagine I’d be using D.Va’s kit not to peel for my backline so much but to play aggro and take the fight to the enemy pretty much all the time. But that’s just my impression. I only have around three hours of D.Va racked up according to my profile because I don’t find her fun.

As far as the likes of Ashe and especially Widow go: I feel like I’m much more effective at denying them with Sigma than with dive tanks. Part of that is to do with vastly more time on Sigma than dive tanks, part of that is due to various maps making it impractical, part of it is due to the first-strike nature of Widow where by the time you actually get to her she’s murked at least one dude and got value.

Beats me. I’m a Rein/Ram main on Tank, but on Gibraltar attack, at least for the first section up until the checkpoint; I’m attacking with Winston or D.va. Rein becomes easier to play on attack as the map goes on at least. I find that vertical mobility in general becomes less necessary as the map reaches its checkpoints. But that’s just me. Can not fathom why one would want to be sitting ducks right at the beginning while defenders enjoys high ground heaven though.

Or people that wanna play immobile brawl tanks against double sniper on sniper maps

That pisses me off way more
