When Overtime Activates

Why does the enemy team suddenly turn into Grandmasters?

They probably saved their ults for a last push, and you let your guards down thinking it’s over?

Overtime is the only time people actually figure out they should try to work together and do the objective. It’s sad lol

I cant tell you how many times my team after doing god knows what for the entire game suddenly goes from a bunch of uncoordinated drunk toddlers to GM/top 500 team. Like even I suddenly start playing better and it’s confusing. I’d assume adrenaline perhaps?

It actually is that, along with a very clear time limit blinking in your face :stuck_out_tongue:

They realize they’ll lose and FINALLY learn how to group up which you stopped asking for 2.5 minutes ago because they refused. It forces them to rush the point which is great!

They should make the game always overtime. Maybe bring back the old TF2 overtime glitch and put it in this game :open_mouth:

Because OW does a absolutely terrible job of conveying the importance of waiting for your team and attacking as a group rather than just mindlessly walking forwards over and over and over and over, until the alarming music and timer ticks down and FORCES players to actually go together, for the most part.

Even in top500, the difference in play is crazy. It’s like the GM’s realize that yes, they are in fact, actually GM players and can work together.

I have so many GM comp games where people can barely push the payload to all 3 points and have like zero time left, but in their second attack round they get all 3 points in overtime.

My theory is that overtime = players stay as a group on the objective = winning

If only people did it for the other 99% of the game, and not just when the music speeds up.
