Without repeating previously mentioned games (as much as I may want to – somebody else know of CultistSimulator AAAAHHHH! ), you can always explore classic titles if you haven’t already. They’re usually pretty cheap to try out, and the best ones rarely age poorly.
- Portal 1 and 2 are both $1 each on Steam atm. Great first-person puzzle games.
- Half-Life 2 still stands out with its amazing gameplay and atmosphere, at $1.
- Riven is a personal favorite, a $3 point-&-click puzzle adventure. Amazing atmosphere.
- Psychonauts is a $3, 3d platformer with a fun sense of humor.
- Skyrim is still a blast to mod, for $6. Ordinator and Second Start are a must for me.
- Or Nintendo. Super Metroid, Link to the Past, DK Country, Earthbound, etc… although they don’t go on sale if you don’t emulate them.
But if I can offer one suggestion above all else: don’t look for just one game. Overwatch, like many other modern games, is designed to keep people hooked for life. Most older games out there don’t do this.
It’s okay to get bored of a game part-way through, frankly it’s how most games should be. Appreciate what you got out of it, and move on.

So many great games posted … I might not be able to actually play Overwatch trying them all

Armored core, elden ring, LOTF, outer worlds.

Book of hours looks promising don’t you think?

I’ve been playing it, and love the more relaxed pacing. I’m just as awful at the game as I am Cult Sim, but it’s been super satisfying to figure out.
Love the moody gameplay: "smell the burning remains of an incense as I gaze out the window while petting a cat to contemplate a book’s meaning ".

I’ve been playing Honkai Star Rail and Warframe pretty much exclusively this year and I can’t recommend them both enough. Neither are “true” single players but can most definitely be played fully solo.

Sleeping Dogs is such an underrated gem, the fighting mechanics are miles better than GTA and there are so many small details that are not implemented in GTA.
Im speedrunning Barstool Pizza Review (because i really wanted a pizza right now)
Also speaking of Defunctland, my favorite episode of Defunctland is definitely the “Handwich” one, that always makes me hungry.

When i do single player games i usually go with story driven games.
I can highly reccomend Mafia Devinitive edition. {Phenomenal story telling}
Definetly give a go to Detroit become human
or give a go to Paladins aswell. its quite fun if you just enter for the fun of differnt but similar game style to overwatch

Watched the trailer… Its LOOKS fantastic. Is the game play and story just as fantastic?
Any particular genre/type of game?
Mostly story driven games, just didn’t want to limit peoples recommendation. There might be a game I haven’t though of that might be good. Although I tried Horizon Zero Dawn, loved the story, it just didn’t catch me… Looking at Detroit become human
Alan Wake was pretty good. Can’t go wrong with the Bioshock series. Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Resident Evil, Max Payne, Red Dead, Red Faction, Metro 2033, Mass Effect and Half Life are all solid series. Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic are older but great games. Those are the ones that jump out to me. Depending on what you mean by “story driven” I could recommend more, but those are all games with good stories and good gameplay.

I might try that, as I absolutely LOVED Control.
Completed those a few time (=
They just came out with Alan Wake 2 which I haven’t tried, but the original Alan Wake and Alan Wake’s American Nightmare were fun to me
