When is Overwatch’s anniversary?

Because it sure as Hell ain’t September.

Blizzard should celebrate the game’s actual anniversary in May.

Pretending for a moment that this aborted sequel is even worthy of an anniversary, its early access was in October, and its
‘’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’full release‘’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’’ was in August, which they celebrated the anniversary of a whole 1 month later.

WTF has September got to do with any of this?

Who’s saying the anniversary is in September?

IDK, the anniversary event maybe?

There wasn’t one this May or the last one.

May 24th I think for OW1, October 4th I think for OW2

If you take that much issue when it’s celebrated, you care too much

May 24 for OW1 and NEVER for OW2, it was shot in its crib.

That was an event to celebrate the anniversary yeah. It ran from September 19th to October 9th. OW2’s anniversary, October 4th, falls inbetween those dates.

They’re celebrating the early access?

Yeah, no, they had the audacity to claim that THAT crap was the full release of the game, after admitting to just how SCREWED the PvE was.

They do celebrate the date that OW2 was released to the public as its anniversary, yeah.

Ok, so why not celebrate the closed BETAs then, whenever they were?

This half-backed abortion of a game shouldn’t even exist, let alone get an anniversary event, LET ALONE the anniversary being for what is essentially an open BETA!

Definitely care too much, it’s the same game

Hey, it’s not like there are any rules that say they can’t lol. They just choose not to.

So why doesn’t it have the same anniversary?

I feel like anniversaries should be saved for the actual release of things. And given that PvE is never coming out, the whole damn point of OW2, it should NEVER get an anniversary.

I remember they ditched the Anniversary Events for “Remix Events” in the year before OW2’s release. They literally just released some recolors of a legendary skin and called it a day. I remember that Archives Modes were taken down for that trash as well.

Maybe it actually was just Archives and not the Anniversary, but oh well…

The answer is just because man

It’s not that deep and the event is just there to get you to spend money anyway

Well the actual release of the “OW2” update was obviously October 4th, so they’ve got that covered.

I’m not sure why you even care honestly.

Well I think the actual release of OW2 was May 24th 2016 BECAUSE THEY’RE THE SAME GAME.

Sure. But it was given a special update on October 4th, 2022 that they called Overwatch 2. And that’s what they choose to celebrate.

Typically anniversaries don’t change whenever a game updates though, right?

Either way, OW’2’ has nothing worth celebrating. Go on, tell me everything this ‘sequel’ has done.

No anniversaries have been changed, they’re just choosing to celebrate a different one.

…?

It’s the same game, and they’re not celebrating the old one, but they are celebrating the new one, so the anniversaries have changed?
