When is Ana actually going to get a nerf?

I’d say it’s always hard to land. Several times a match I find myself saying, “****ing Junkrat! Stop getting in my way! That 'nade was for our Rein!”
(context being that I wanted to 'nade the tank to burst heals. Teammates randomly jinking about trying to avoid damage tend to run in front of 'nade quite often, to the detriment of the aforementioned tank)

You aren’t wrong, and I felt that XD. I think a nice QoL change would be to have her Bio-nade act like her bullets; pass through full health targets. If you want to preheal with the Grenade, you can hit the ground around allies, not sure why this isnt in the game already

The meta before GOATs was double sniper/grav Dragon and the crying was about how everybody dies to one shots.

Meanwhile during GOATs Ana literally bullied Moira out of the composition created around her AOE heals and replaced her.

The fact that she’s nearly a must pick. Any other hero would get a huge amount of flak for having her stats, having a hero be anywhere near 16.6% pickrate indicates there’s a huge balancing flaw in the system.

Actually Ana has 17.55% pickrate in GM, more than the theoretical must pickrate and she has broken the system. I just didn’t include that daily pickrate (rising) on my post.

Ana should not hardcounter other supports with one ability. Self-peel doesn’t need to be touched no.

She doesn’t hard counter any of the supports, her lack of mobility makes her vulnerable to them all. if she can land the sleep dart, assuming it is not on cool down, she might get the kill with a combo, if her other cool down (nades) is not on cool down, assuming no one wakes them up immediately. It takes her dart, her nade, a shot from a very slow firing weapons, and possibly a melee to kill other squishies, all in a potential one v one assuming no other enemies are around to contend with. Can’t believe people are still saying this BS.

It’s more of the fact that her and Rein have a ridiculous amount of community bias toward them when it comes to balancing. Any other hero having THAT high presence would having forum posts raging and would be gutted within the coming weeks.

Why do you think it is that Ana might get a community preference over maybe Moira? What are the differences in their play styles and kits?

Bap enabled hypersustain. Not everyone gets it, but if you played support before GOATS you know how damage works:
Your team bleeds out, single target and weak aoe heal is not capable of outhealing distributed damage, thus team dies slowly but surely.
Bap and Moira negated this, especially in combination with tanks.
That’s why the forum cried “nothing dies”, buffing Bap and Moiras heal → nothing dies

Bap did 60 healing per shot prior to being butchered and no one complained about his healing until they buffed his Rate of Fire on his Primary Fire. No Primary Healer should be doing 50 healing per second on their primary source of heals, especially when said hero has to land their shots to provide heals.

Other character viability doesn’t make ana’s any less broken though. Or less deserving of nerfs. You’re not thinking of individual character strenghts.

I am. Ana isn’t that much better than Zen. I main the two.

Meanwhile in OWL we recently saw quite a bit of Bap/Brig in defensive setups that Ana usually takes up, even when the meta is less than favorable.

Dive being viable has ana as the main support regardless.

Flankers aren’t lethal enough to justify switching to higher survivability supports.

I’d like to see enemy mercy take down an Ana, when Ana can 1vs2 the dps mercy is supporting and kill them both.

Ana doesn’t lose to a single support, you got it the other way around.

Ana has one of the lowest winrate for the vast majority of the game Bronze>Plat. All the other healers you listed did well literally in all ranks at their heights.

I’m not saying that Ana can’t use any tweaks but she is nowhere near any of the other OP characters who dominated the ladder.

Like Reinhardt? And as with him, at least part of the issue is one or more characters barely being played because of nerfs. Fix Batiste. Give Mercy a little boost, THEN reevaluate.

I think this is a good view. . .Supports don’t need HUGE buffs rn, but giving Mercy 60 HPS and maybe reducing CD of Bap’s Heal Pulse by a couple of seconds would do the trick

People will complain less if a character takes more to get high value out of their kit. That’s just the truth whether people like it or not. Ana doesn’t do that well in lower ranks and can be shut down so people complain less even if she’s doing well at the highest ranks.

Contrast that to when people considered Mercy/Moira/Brig broken. They had high pickrates and winrates at all ranks of the game and were super easy to take advantage of.

Not really. He was Meta right alongside Baptiste, and hasnt been changed since then. You get someone to stick with you, and you’re fine. Ana can protect herself, but she has to have good mechanics to do so.
