Hog is a 600 HP DPS hero masked as a tank. His kill combo is deadlier than a lot of DPS. That’s why it feels bad.
I can counter it. I play a lot of heroes that counter it. I still dislike giving him more kill power. Istill dislike his design. I still wish a tank that revolved around damage and a hook was given actual tanking abilities and not just doing more damage.
People have been saying burst damage needs to be toned down, and I’m noticing the same people saying that are the same ones defending Roadhog getting more burst damage.
He’s not OP. He’s not busted by any means. Some people have just always hated his design revolving around damage. And giving him more power to confirm kills if you’re hooked doesn’t feel like the right move.
100% dps can save distance and dodge hook. X% dps have abilites for save ANYONE from hook. or themselvs

I play quite a bit of Hog these days because i play QPC a lot and i want to tank without having to have a healer (because it is QPC).
What people do not realise is that it is not all that easy to land a hook (only ~50% myself) and Hog players should be rewarded for their skill.
I played Moira yesterday in QPC games and got hooked and timed my Fade to stay alive. Got hooked plenty as Hammond and just hit Adaptive Shield and kept shooting the Hog (in the face) as i back pedalled and rolled away.
Honestly, if someone gets hooked, it really is credit to the player’s skill and the opponent’s lack of positioning. If s/he gets one-shotted, then the onus is on the opponent.

Why are you trying to compare Zarya and Roadhog? And this is completely negligent of the fact that I still don’t think he’s overpowered, I just think adding more burst damage in the game when we’re already getting too much burst damage is problematic. “Better play Zarya and die” also implies that she’s weak…and that’s not the case.

We have very few independent characters in the game. There are two of them among the tanks - hammond and hog. both of them suffer from counterpicks, but hammond suffers much more. remains a roadhog. If it is changed, then the game on tanks will become even less enjoyable.

You can’t use abilities when you’re hooked. Unless you time it perfectly, but some abilities can’t save you.
Keeping distance IS NOT A COUNTER. Because that can be said about every hero. You cannot keep your distance from him all game. That’s not how the game works.

You play on Dzen. Here is the Reaper. Its base speed is equal to yours. He is unable to catch up with you. If you see his teleport, then you just kill him or move away. Using fade is fraught with death for him, at best he will take you with him.
