"When does the event start?"

The events always start at around 11am to noon PST/PDT because Blizzard HQ is in Los Angeles.

Since we are currently on PDT, that’s 7pm BST.

If your time zone isn’t listed here, use this website to convert PDT to your time zone: https://savvytime.com/converter/pdt
Now stop spamming the forums with the same question that gets asked every single time a new event is due to start.

Also don’t go into a comp match when you know the event about to start today. You would not believe how many people queue for comp and then act surprise their match was interrupted when every event always starts at the same time (2:pm EST for me) People shouldn’t need warnings by this point.

Honestly, it’s kinda weird because it’s currently 8am PST and it says 2 hours left on the website…

you know there’s gonna be a thread complaining that the event cost them SR

in EST, it’s 1:00 pm

This is an approximation. Blizzard, like many other game companies, has specific times and days of the week where they will patch their games. (Mainly due to the fact that patching console versions of the game is not as streamlined a process as patching PC games.)

Just under 3 hours now

They drop the patch and then go to lunch.
Come back and put out dumpster fire.
Then they play some minecraft.

i thought ongoing matches kept going until the end when updates happen? obviously you cant rejoin if your game crashes of something, but thats usually the case anyway

Its like in 2h and a half?

When last year’s Summer games event was due, comp games were shut down while people were still playing. Happened to many streamers such as Emongg, ML7 and xQc. They DID lose SR.
