July 1st, aka, when Season 29 starts.
They’re waiting until Season 28 ends as theyll be combining all console leaderboards together since all console players will be playing together in Comp once cross-play is added.
No, Cross Play comes out before season 28 ends but competitive cross play for consoles will be available at the begin of Season 29.
Source official FAQ: „ When cross-play goes live, there will be some time left in season 28. SR and leaderboards will be preserved when we patch and continue as normal for the rest of the season. Cross-play for competitive won’t be enabled until season 29 – meaning console players will only play with others of their specific platform for the remainder of season 28. When Season 29 goes live, players on different consoles will be able to group together to play ranked. Competitive Season 29 is scheduled to begin on July 1, 2021.“

Any word on if they’ll do a SR reset for console players? In Season 29 that is.
There will be no SR reset.
I mean as part of the new season. SR seems to tie closely to MMR and so your first 5 matches tend to place you in Gold until after you can settle in through the next 5 matches.
Because Blizzard said so in the FAQ that apparently not a enough people read.
